How Your SIX the Musical Party Runs

Arrive and take your crowns

Your choreographer meets you at the venue with the show's biggest numbers ready. A pop-concert warm-up, a little queen-posture coaching, and the group divides into its six Tudor factions.

Learn the routine

SIX choreography is modern girl-group style — sharp arms, struts and formation changes — taught in short, manageable sections. The bride rules from centre stage; everyone else is her royal line-up.

The filmed finale

One full concert-style run, filmed. Six-part formations look spectacular on camera, and the final crown pose is the wedding-week profile picture sorted.

Why SIX for a Hen Party?

SIX turns Henry VIII's wives into a pop girl group, which makes it possibly the most hen-party-shaped show ever written: six women, huge songs, zero men on stage. Groups love assigning queens — every friend gets a character, a personality and a moment, and the bride outranks the lot by default.

The choreography is pure pop concert — the strut-and-point vocabulary of a Beyoncé or Ariana show, because each queen was deliberately styled on a modern pop icon. That means your routine feels current rather than costume-drama, and the moves break down into simple, repeatable sections any beginner can own by the end of the hour.

And it's a homegrown fairy tale. Two Cambridge students, Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, wrote SIX for the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe; within five years it had conquered the West End and won the Tony Award for Best Original Score. Booking a SIX hen party means celebrating the best British musical-theatre story of its generation.

History with a beat drop — six queens, one routine, no survivors on the group chat.

Ex-Wives

The opener that introduces all six queens — the natural framework for giving everyone in the group a role.

No Way

Catherine of Aragon's defiant showstopper — Beyoncé-flavoured attitude, made for the group's fiercest dancer.

Don't Lose Ur Head

Anne Boleyn's cheeky pop number — playful, bouncy and impossible to take seriously, in the best way.

Get Down

Anna of Cleves' victory-lap party track — the pure swagger section of the routine.

Haus of Holbein

The neon Tudor rave interlude — gloriously silly and an absolute gift for group photos.

Six

The finale, all queens together — full formation, final pose, cameras up.

SIX Facts Worth Repeating

A record-breaking director

Co-writer Lucy Moss became the youngest woman ever to direct a Broadway musical.

SIX the Musical Questions, Answered

How much does a SIX hen party dance class cost?

One flat rate for the whole court: from £140 plus venue for one hour, or £165 plus venue for ninety minutes. Any group size, same price — six hens or twenty-six, nobody recalculates anything.

Will the choreographer come to our accommodation?

Yes — in every one of our 67 cities the class can happen at your hotel, Airbnb or a hired hall, or at a partner studio if you'd rather. Most hen weekends choose the come-to-you option.

Is queen-pop choreography hard for beginners?

No — it looks fierce but it's built from struts, points and poses rather than technical steps. Everything is taught in short sections, so complete beginners keep pace with the friend who never left dance class.

Should we come dressed as the queens?

We don't supply costumes or props, but SIX groups go to town with their own: space buns, studded chokers, one colour per queen and a crown for the bride. The Tudor glam is on you; the choreography is on us.
