About This SIX the Musical Hen Party Dance Class in York
A SIX the Musical dance hen party York channels the show's stadium-pop swagger: sharp, fierce, girl-group choreography with attitude to burn. Your choreographer teaches the strut, the sass and the tight unison hits that make the six queens look like a chart-topping act, then hands the bride the front-and-centre solo so she gets her own spotlight. It is loud, empowering and built for a group that wants to feel like a headline pop act for an hour rather than shuffle politely at the back — pure girl-power energy from the first count-in.
SIX tours the UK constantly and its productions have visited York on the road — the Grand Opera House York and York Theatre Royal both host touring musicals — so it lands as a genuinely local reference for a York hen without any premiere, debut or affiliation claim from us. We simply borrow the show's six-part structure: split the group into queens, give each a signature pose, then pull everyone back into one blazing unison chorus. It is a smart, playful way to make sure every hen gets a moment and the bride still headlines.
It runs wherever suits your SIX the Musical dance hen do York: a townhouse Airbnb off Micklegate, a hotel suite near the station, a big house out toward Clifton or Fulford, or a hired studio a short walk from the Shambles. Rehearse your girl-group number in the afternoon, then take the same fierce energy straight onto the Fossgate and Walmgate circuit. We come to you across all of York and the Vale of York at one flat rate for the whole group.

What Our Hens Say
SIX the Musical hen parties we have taught across York.
"We are all obsessed with SIX so this was a dream hen activity. Fierce, funny and the bride got to headline. We'd seen the tour at the Grand Opera House so it felt extra special."
— Gemma Whitwell ★★★★★"The queen poses meant everyone had a moment, not just the confident ones. Our teacher was brilliant and the unison chorus looked properly slick on video."
— Anya Kaur-Booth ★★★★★"Booked it for a townhouse off Micklegate. Empowering, loud and so much fun — we strutted straight out onto Fossgate afterwards feeling unstoppable."
— Hollie Sugden ★★★★★"Flat price for fifteen of us, no maths, no fuss. Came to our Airbnb, taught us a fierce little number in an hour. Best decision of the whole weekend."
— Cerys Ottley ★★★★★SIX the Musical Hen Party FAQ
Everything you need to know about our SIX the Musical hen party dance class in York.
Do we need to know the show to enjoy it? +
Not at all. Fans love the queen references, but the routine works purely as a fierce pop-group number that anyone can pick up. Your choreographer teaches every move slowly, so total beginners land the unison hits together.
Did SIX premiere or is it based in York? +
No. SIX is a touring production that visits York on the road — venues like the Grand Opera House York and York Theatre Royal host touring musicals. We have no affiliation with the show or those theatres and make no premiere or debut claim; we simply take inspiration from its pop-concert style.
How much does it cost? +
A flat £140 for 60 minutes or £165 for 90 minutes, covering the whole group rather than per head. Chilled bubbly is an optional £10 add-on. The only possible extra is venue room hire if your own space charges it, which we always flag up front.
Can everyone get a solo moment? +
That is the beauty of the SIX format. We split the group into 'queens', each with a signature pose, before bringing everyone into a unison chorus — so every hen gets a spotlight and the bride still headlines the number.
Where in York do you cover? +
All of York and the Vale of York — Micklegate, Clifton, Holgate, Fulford, Heworth, Bishopthorpe and the centre. We come to your Airbnb, house or hotel function room, or arrange a hired studio a short walk from the Shambles.
How big can our group be? +
From five up to thirty-plus. The flat rate covers everyone, so larger hens get better value per head, and for big parties we can add a second instructor. Send your date early — a York race day makes the centre and taxis busy, and we will time things around it.
