Pick a Hen Party Theme. We Build the Routine.

Every hen party dance class in Dundee is built around a single theme you choose — Spice Girls, ABBA, Wicked, anything off the 38+ list — and the afternoon finishes with all of you performing a routine that did not exist at lunchtime.

One of our professional choreographers walks the group through it move by move, in a private studio a short climb up from the waterfront or wherever you are based, the speaker packed and ready, right across Dundee and Angus. The single flat rate still covers everyone.

A working afternoon on the routine, Perth Road and the West End once it is dark, then the same steps back out on the wedding floor a year on — that is how a Dundee hen weekend should run.

One Flat Price. No Per-Head Maths.

Plenty of hen party firms still charge by the head, so the total lurches every time a name is added or drops away. We settle on one price for the whole group from the start — it reads the same whether seven of you dance or twenty-seven.

One-hour party Warm-up, the full routine, then a filmed run

£140 + venue

Ninety-minute party Extra minutes, extra choruses, extra carry-on

£165 + venue

Bottle of bubbly Chilled and poured for the moment you land

+£10

The figure stands whether six hens come or thirty — no one pays more when the numbers move.

  1. Choose your theme

Look through the 38+ themes and land on the bride's favourite. Caught between a pair? Your choreographer is glad to weave the two into one.

  2. Pick studio or come-to-you

A private studio a short walk up from the waterfront, the West End bars close by, or the choreographer drives out to wherever the group is staying across Dundee, Angus and north Fife.

  3. Learn the routine together

Each count is fed in small, repeating pieces made for first-timers — nobody assumed to know it, nobody left standing at the edge.

  4. Perform it — maybe twice

The closing run is caught on a phone and shared before anyone finds their coat, and a good few of these routines return on the wedding floor.

Wedding Dance Lessons in Dundee

Those ninety seconds of the first dance end up on more phones than anything else at the reception, which is reason enough not to leave them to chance. Give us your song and a choreographer designs a routine to match it, pitched wherever you like between understated and full theatre, at a studio in the centre or wherever you are marrying.

A typical booking is four or five sessions spread through the months beforehand; leave it late and the two-hour Last Minute crash class has pulled more than one nearly-here wedding back from the brink. The smallest package is £75, and song editing plus rehearsal videos come in on the bigger ones.

Questions, Answered

A few things people ask us before a first Dundee booking — the venues, the cost, whether you need any experience, how far ahead to plan. Anything we have not covered, drop it on an enquiry form and we will come back inside a working day.

Where in Dundee do the classes and hen parties actually run?

The weekly classes sit at partner studios around the city centre and out into the West End along Perth Road, a short but honestly uphill walk from the station and the waterfront, while the children's classes reach Broughty Ferry, Monifieth and Lochee. For a hen party or any private booking, the choreographer will come to your flat, hotel or hall right across Dundee, Angus and north Fife.

Is the hen party genuinely one price for everyone?

Yes — you pay once for the whole group rather than per person: £140 plus venue for the full hour, £165 plus venue for ninety minutes, and it reads the same whether five hens turn up or twenty-five. Nothing is recalculated when the guest list shifts, and a cold bottle of bubbly is an optional £10 on top.

What does a single weekly class cost?

Every class is £8, however you take it — one drop-in or a block of four — and the figure holds across all twenty styles. There is nothing to join and nothing to cancel, so people often try one style this week and another the next.

Getting there: is there a tram, and what about parking?

There is no tram or metro in Dundee; the city runs on buses, with road arrivals over the Tay Road Bridge and down the A90. The station opens straight onto the waterfront beside Discovery Point, though the centre climbs uphill from the river, so allow a moment for the gradient. Central and waterfront parking is paid and gets busy — tell us where you set off from and we will point you at the easiest studio.

Who will be teaching us?

Professional dancers and choreographers based in and around Dundee — people who fit teaching around their own shows, tours and studio work, some of them working professionals who dance and teach across Scotland. Every teacher who takes a children's class holds a current DBS check.

How far ahead should we get a date booked?

A weekly class you can usually walk into the same week you ask. A summer Saturday hen party is worth pinning three to five months ahead, a touch more if it lands on a Dundee United or Dundee FC home weekend when the city fills up, and couples working towards a first dance tend to begin two to three months out.

What Our Dancers Say

The weekly regulars, hen dos and first-dance couples, drawn from Dundee, Angus and the Fife side of the Tay.

I put together a Dirty Dancing afternoon for my sister's hen — fourteen of us, a couple over from north Fife and the rest from around town. We took a West End studio off Perth Road and yes, we attempted the lift; the clip of the bride actually going up is the reason the group chat still will not settle. Dinner and drinks in the centre after, and nobody stayed in their seat.

Teresa H. Hen organiser, Dundee

I had it in my head that contemporary was for people who had danced since they were small, so signing up as a total beginner felt like a stretch. A few months on, I can hold a whole phrase and move with the music instead of counting under my breath. The studio is up in the West End near the university, and the walk back down to the waterfront is the wind-down.

Struan M. Weekly student, Dundee

We married at a place out at Broughty Ferry, and I did not want the first dance to be the bit I dreaded all day. Five calm sessions in a city-centre studio turned our nervous swaying into something that actually looked planned, and we ran it once at the venue the week before so the floor held no surprises. My husband, who fought the whole idea, now brings it up at every party.

Find Us in Dundee

Our studios sit in the centre and out along Perth Road in the West End; the children's classes run through the suburbs; and a choreographer will bring the whole thing to your venue anywhere in Dundee, across Angus or over the Tay into north Fife. You get the precise address the moment the booking is in.

Off the Train

Dundee station opens straight onto the waterfront beside Discovery Point, a few minutes from the centre — though the streets climb uphill from the river, so give yourself a moment for the slope. Evening classes are timed for people arriving by train or straight from work.

By Bus

There is no tram or metro in the city — Dundee moves by bus, and most services run through the middle, so a studio near City Square or the Overgate is easy to reach from any direction.

Driving In

Road arrivals come over the Tay Road Bridge and down the A90. Central and waterfront parking is paid and fills up on a busy day, so if you are driving tell us the studio and we will point you at the closest place to leave the car.

We Travel Too

A hotel room, a holiday let or a booked hall — your choreographer travels out to you right across Dundee, into Angus and over the Tay into Fife, with the PA and the music sorted.
