Pick a Hen Party Theme. We Build the Routine.

Choose a theme first — Beyoncé, ABBA, Wicked or any of the other 38-plus — and a hen party dance class in Edinburgh turns the whole group into a performing troupe by the end of a single afternoon, routine and video to keep.

A professional choreographer breaks every step down at a private studio in the city centre or out on the Leith waterfront, or comes to your hotel or Airbnb right across Edinburgh and the Lothians. The one flat rate holds however many turn up.

Learn it over the afternoon, cocktails on George Street come evening, the routine reprised on the wedding floor months on — that is an Edinburgh hen weekend done properly.

One Flat Price. No Per-Head Maths.

Most Edinburgh hen companies still charge by the head, so the total lurches every time the guest list shifts. We do it the other way — one fixed price for the whole group, whether five of you make it out of the New Town flat or twenty-five.

  1. Choose your theme

Scroll the 38+ themes and settle on the one made for the bride. Caught between two? Your choreographer will happily fold them into one.

  2. Pick studio or come-to-you

A private city-centre or Leith studio with the bars a few steps outside, or the choreographer comes to your accommodation anywhere across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

  3. Learn the routine together

Taught in bite-size sections aimed squarely at first-timers — no exceptions, no judgement, nobody left holding up the wall.

  4. Perform it — maybe twice

We film the closing run-through for the group chat, and a good few of these routines resurface at the wedding.

Wedding Dance Lessons in Edinburgh

Your first dance is the ninety seconds every phone in the room films — it deserves better than a nervous sway. Our choreographers build a private routine around your song, from quietly elegant to full showstopper, at our city-centre and Leith studios or your venue.

Four to six sessions across the months beforehand suits most couples, though the two-hour Last Minute intensive has salvaged more than one fortnight-to-go panic. Packages open at £75, and song editing plus filmed rehearsals come in as you move up the tiers.

Questions, Answered

The questions Edinburgh locals ask before booking — studios, prices, experience and how far ahead to plan. Anything we've not covered, the enquiry forms reach us within one working day.

Whereabouts in Edinburgh do the classes and hen parties happen?

Partner studios sit in the city centre — the New Town around George Street and the Old Town by the Grassmarket — plus the Leith waterfront and Stockbridge, with children's classes across the city; the exact address arrives when you book. For hen parties and private sessions the choreographer also travels to your hotel, Airbnb or venue right across Edinburgh and the Lothians, and over the Forth into Fife.

Is the hen party price really one flat rate for any group size?

It does — one figure covers everyone: £140 plus venue for the hour, £165 plus venue for ninety minutes, whether six of you show or twenty-six. A fifteen-hen group pays £140 flat rather than £25-plus each, and it never moves when names come and go.

What does a weekly dance class in Edinburgh cost?

£8 a class, full stop — drop in once or book four weeks, the price doesn't move, the same across all twenty styles. Nothing to join and nothing to sign, so trying salsa one week and tap the next costs you no extra.

Can a total beginner come along?

None at all — beginners are exactly who we build for. Every style has a real starter level, and hen routines take it as read that half the group hasn't set foot on a floor since Hogmanay. Our teachers are working professionals with a gift for getting nervous first-timers moving in the opening few minutes.

Who will actually be teaching for Dance Centre UK in Edinburgh?

Professional dancers and choreographers based in and around Edinburgh — performers who tour, take company and commercial work and teach between contracts, in the city where the world's biggest arts festival lands every August. Anything involving children is only ever led by fully background-checked instructors.

How much notice do you need from us?

A weekly class can usually be joined within days of getting in touch. Hen weekends are the ones to lock in early — Edinburgh is one of the UK's top hen cities and the Fringe-summer Saturdays go first, so allow three to five months. First-dance couples generally begin lessons two to three months before the day.

What Our Dancers Say

Hen parties, first dances and weekly classes right across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Fifteen of us learned the Spice Girls number in a studio off George Street, then spilled straight out into the New Town. Our choreographer kept the jokes coming, and the final clip has opened every reunion we've had since.

Rachel M. Maid of honour, Edinburgh

Gave the Tuesday-night salsa a go after work near St Andrew Square, and I've been at the socials twice a week ever since. Partners swap round all evening, so within a month you've spun with half the city.

Stuart G. Weekly student, Edinburgh

We booked five first-dance sessions at a studio in Leith and came away with a proper routine, dip and all, in place of the sway we walked in with. Rehearsing on the real reception floor the week before turned out to be the smartest thing we did.

Find Us in Edinburgh

Partner studios in the city centre, out on the Leith waterfront and up in Stockbridge, children's classes across Edinburgh, and choreographers who travel to your venue right across the Lothians and over the Forth into Fife — exact addresses confirmed when you book.

By Tram

Edinburgh's tram runs from the airport through Haymarket and Princes Street out to Leith and Newhaven, and the centre is small enough to cross on foot — so a studio is rarely more than a short walk or a few stops away.

Coming Into Town

Waverley sits right in the valley between the Old and New Towns, with Haymarket a mile west — hen groups roll in by train from Glasgow, Dundee, Newcastle and over the border, straight into the middle of everything.

Skip the Old Town Drive

The Old Town's cobbles, one-way closes and bus-only streets make driving in the slow way round. Leave the car at a tram-line Park & Ride, or a multi-storey around St James Quarter or Castle Terrace, and let the tram do the work.

We Travel Too

Hotel, Airbnb or a hired hall — our choreographers come to you right across Edinburgh and the Lothians, out to Livingston and Musselburgh and over the Forth to Dunfermline, speaker and music included.
