Pick a Hen Party Theme. We Build the Routine.

A hen party dance class in Southampton opens with a theme — Beyoncé, ABBA, a Craig David-era garage set, whatever suits the bride — picked from more than 38, and closes with the whole group nailing a routine they built together in one afternoon.

A professional choreographer breaks down every step in a private studio near the Cultural Quarter, or loads a speaker and drives to your hotel, Airbnb or hired hall anywhere across Hampshire. One flat rate covers the whole group.

Learn it over the afternoon, take it out around Bedford Place that night, then bring it back for the wedding six months on — that is a Southampton hen do that actually joins up.

One Flat Price. No Per-Head Maths.

Most hen party firms quote a rate per head, so the sums get redone every time the guest list shifts. We set one fixed price for the entire group — however many of you actually surface from the Airbnb on the day.

  1. Choose your theme

Scroll the 38+ themes and settle on the one that fits the bride. Can't decide between two? Your choreographer will happily stitch them into one.

  2. Pick studio or come-to-you

A private studio in the middle of town with the bars a two-minute walk away, or the choreographer comes out to wherever you are staying, from Ocean Village to the New Forest edge.

  3. Learn the routine together

Each move taught in bite-size chunks that anyone can pick up first time — nobody sidelined, nobody judged, nobody left holding the wall.

  4. Perform it — maybe twice

We film the last run and it lands in the group chat before you have reached the bar, and a fair few of these routines get a second outing at the wedding.

Wedding Dance Lessons in Southampton

Your first dance is the most filmed ninety seconds of the whole reception — too big to leave to a nervous shuffle. Our choreographers build a private routine around your song, from understated and graceful to a proper showstopper, at a central Southampton studio or your venue.

Most couples take four to six sessions across the run-up; the two-hour Last Minute intensive has salvaged more than one two-weeks-to-go panic. Packages start at £75, with song edits and filmed rehearsals folded in on the larger ones.

Questions, Answered

What Southampton dancers ask before booking — where it runs, what it costs, whether you need any experience and how far ahead to plan. Anything else, the enquiry forms reach us inside a working day.

Whereabouts in Southampton does it all happen?

Weekly classes sit in the city centre — around Guildhall Square, Above Bar and the Cultural Quarter — with children's classes reaching out to Portswood, Bitterne and Woolston; you get the exact studio once you're booked. Hen parties and private lessons work the other way round: the choreographer packs a speaker and comes to your hotel, Airbnb or hall anywhere across Hampshire.

How does the one-price hen party rate work?

One figure covers everyone together: £140 plus the room for an hour, £165 plus the room for ninety minutes, whether seven of you turn up or twenty-seven. No per-head arithmetic, and nothing extra to pay when names drop off late.

And what does a weekly class cost?

Eight pounds, flat, however you book — a single drop-in or a four-week block, the same across all twenty styles. There's no membership and no contract, so you can try one style this week and switch to another the next.

Do we need any dancing experience at all?

None at all. Every style has a real beginners' tier, and the hen routines assume most of the group last danced at a wedding disco. The teachers are working pros, and getting first-timers moving quickly is the bit they're best at.

So who actually runs the sessions?

Professional dancers and choreographers based here in Southampton — the kind whose weeks are filled with shoots, tours and stage runs at venues like the Mayflower, teaching in between. Anyone taking a children's class holds a current DBS check.

How much notice should we give?

A weekly class you can usually join this week — just get in touch. Summer-Saturday hen dos are the ones to lock in early, ideally three to five months out, as the central studios fill fastest, while couples tend to start first-dance lessons around two to three months before the day.

What Our Dancers Say

Hen weekends, first dances and weekly classes from right across Southampton.

Booked the Spice Girls class for my sister's hen not really knowing what to expect. An hour later fourteen of us had an actual routine, and the walk down to Bedford Place afterwards felt like a victory lap. Still the most-quoted hour of the weekend.

Sasha W. Maid of honour, Southampton

Six months in and Tuesday salsa is the fixed point of my week. The constant partner rotation means nobody gets stuck and nobody gets left out — I've made more friends here than in three years of gyms.

Jamie F. Weekly student, Southampton

Our first dance was the part of the wedding I was quietly dreading. Four lessons near Guildhall Square sorted the nerves, the fifth added a dip nobody saw coming, and on the night it just worked.

Find Us in Southampton

Central studios around Guildhall Square and Above Bar, children's classes out in the suburbs, and choreographers happy to teach at your own venue anywhere across Hampshire — the exact address lands the moment you book.

By Bus

Bluestar and Unilink cover the city centre, and every central studio is a short walk from a stop — Southampton has no tram, so a bus or a quick taxi beats optimistic walking from the suburbs.

Arriving by Train

Southampton Central is the main gateway, a short hop from Westquay, the Mayflower and Bedford Place. Step off, grab a bus or cab in, and the day barely loses a minute.

If You're Driving

The M27 and M3 bring most drivers in, with big car parks at Westquay and around the centre — though cruise and match-day traffic can bite. The weekend park-and-ride from Adanac runs at weekends and on holidays only, so check the times before you rely on it.

We Come to You

Hotel, Airbnb or a hired hall — the choreographer brings the whole set-up to you, speaker and playlist included, anywhere from the city out to Romsey, Hedge End and the New Forest.
