Wedding Dance Lessons in Bath
First-dance choreography made to measure by Bath's own wedding instructors — anything from an easy, assured sway to the number your guests are still replaying years on.
Your First Dance, Done Properly
Choreography Built to Your Song
Hand over the track and the whole routine grows out of it — its pace, the line that gets everyone, the exact beat the phones come up. Whether that ends up a straight waltz or something nobody in the room predicts, it is made once and made only for you two. Our couples marry all over: Guildhall ceremonies, Georgian townhouses, barns out past Bradford-on-Avon.
Built for Beginners
Nearly everyone we meet walks in without a single lesson behind them — which is rather the point. What the guests catch from their seats looks elegant; what it is actually made of is a handful of plain, repeatable moves. If you already take dance classes in Bath, you will be well ahead.
Lessons That Fit Around Real Life
One-to-one time in a central Bath studio, dropped around the working day and the mountain of wedding admin, evenings and weekends among them — or the choreographer travels out to you, anywhere in Bath or its villages. Sorting a hen party too? It is the same team and a single conversation to book.

Choose Your Dance Style
The first-dance styles couples ask after most; your choreographer bends any of them to suit your track and your level.
Traditional Waltz
The timeless option — graceful, romantic and equally at home in a Georgian ballroom or a garden marquee.
Modern Romantic
Close, unforced movement that skips the rigid ballroom frames — for couples who want to still look like themselves, only steadier and more polished.
Latin Fusion
Rumba and bachata warmth with a flash of drama — the kind of connection guests feel from the back of the room.
Swing & Jive
Fast, joyful and impossible to sit still to — the style that drags half the guests up before the last chorus.
Dramatic Spotlight
Lifts, dips and staged moments for couples chasing an audible gasp — built safely and drilled until they are second nature.
Song Transitions
Start slow, then drop into something nobody expects — a multi-song mash-up with the loudest reaction-per-second going.
From the Dance Floor
Bath couples on their first dances.
"Our song was a 7/4 folk track the DJ warned us about. The choreographer listened once, said 'leave it with me', and built something that made the odd timing look intentional. People asked if we were dancers."Married in Bath
"Georgian townhouse reception, gorgeous sloping old floorboards, absolute menace to dance on. Our teacher had us practise on an incline at her suggestion. On the night we were the only steady thing in the room."Last-Minute Package
"I proposed the lessons; he agreed under protest. By week three he was practising in the kitchen without me. I have promised to only mention that here."Wedding Party Choreography

Wedding Dance FAQ
The questions that surface most before couples book with us in Bath — nerves, timings, song choice and where it all happens.
We genuinely cannot dance a step — is there any hope for us?
That is precisely who these lessons exist for. Nearly every couple we teach starts with no dance history at all. Your choreographer picks steps that look far harder than they are and drills them in small pieces until they run on autopilot — nerves factored into the price.
How far ahead should we really get going?
Somewhere around two or three months ahead sits comfortably — a session each week or fortnight with a bit of practice wedged between. Cutting it fine? The two-hour Last Minute push has rescued couples with a fortnight left, and it usually slots into that same week.
Are we free to pick absolutely any track?
Any at all. Pass over the track and the whole thing is shaped to its pace and its stand-out beats; if it drags on, we crop it to something danceable. Not settled yet? Your choreographer will draw up a shortlist to match the style you fancy.
Do you handle parent dances too?
We do — every dance a wedding throws up, not just the couple's one. Parent dances, group numbers for the bridal party and surprise routines are all everyday bookings, charged at the ordinary session rate, in our studios or at yours.
What if one of us is quietly terrified?
So common it is basically the default. Everything runs one-to-one — no group, no onlookers — and the choreographer takes their tempo from whichever of you is the more anxious. By the second meeting the fear has usually flipped into a bit of showing off.
Where do wedding dance lessons in Bath take place?
Central Bath studios kept just for the two of you, arranged to fit your diary with evenings and weekends on the table — or the choreographer heads out to your home or venue, anywhere in Bath or its villages. A closing rehearsal at the reception venue is a favourite extra.
