Wedding Dance Lessons in Edinburgh
Bespoke first dance choreography from Edinburgh's professional wedding-dance specialists — from a quietly confident sway to the kind of routine a reception remembers for years.
Your First Dance, Done Properly
Choreography Built to Your Song
Send us the track and your choreographer designs everything around it — the tempo, the lyric that lands hardest, the beat where every camera in the room comes out. A classic waltz or something no one sees coming: it is yours alone, made once, for just the two of you. We teach couples marrying everywhere from New Town townhouses to barns out in East Lothian.
Built for Beginners
Most of our couples turn up never having taken a single lesson — which is precisely the brief. The finished routine looks graceful from where the guests are sitting, yet leans on only a handful of simple, repeatable moves. Already in one of our dance classes in Edinburgh? You'll take to this in no time.
Lessons That Fit Edinburgh Life
Private one-to-ones at our city-centre and Leith studios, fitted around your job and the wedding admin — evenings and weekends alike — or the choreographer travels to you anywhere across Edinburgh and the Lothians. Booking a hen party as well? Same choreographers, one conversation.

Choose Your Dance Style
The first-dance styles couples reach for most — your choreographer will bend any one of them to your song and to however sure your feet feel.
Traditional Waltz
The timeless pick — graceful, romantic and just as fitting under a marquee as in a chandelier-lit ballroom.
Modern Romantic
Loose, close movement that drops the formal ballroom frame entirely — you two, unmistakably yourselves, only a good deal smoother on your feet.
Latin Fusion
Rumba and bachata heat with a pinch of theatre — the sort of connection that reaches the very back of the room.
Swing & Jive
Quick, joyful and impossible to sit still through — the number that drags the guests up before the last chorus lands.
Dramatic Spotlight
Lifts, dips and big staged moments for anyone after a proper gasp from the room — planned to be completely safe, then practised until it feels like second nature.
Song Transitions
Open on a slow, tender number and then lurch into something nobody in the room saw coming — a multi-song mix with the loudest reaction of the whole night.
From the Dance Floor
Edinburgh couples on the routines they pulled off.
"Our reception floor turned out half the size we'd practised on, so every sweeping step had to shrink on the spot. Our teacher had drilled us so thoroughly that we adjusted without a wobble. Guests thought we'd danced for years."Married in Edinburgh
"Our chosen track had an awkward, drifting tempo we simply couldn't count. In one evening they mapped the whole thing, marked every change, and turned a song we'd nearly abandoned into our favourite moment of the day."Last-Minute Package
"Half the wedding party lived in different cities, so we learned the routine over video calls and stitched it together at one frantic rehearsal. Somehow it clicked, and the groom's stunned face when we all stood up made the chaos completely worth it."Wedding Party Choreography

Wedding Dance FAQ
What Edinburgh couples most want cleared up before they book in — nerves, timing, choosing your song and where the rehearsals happen.
We genuinely can't dance — can wedding dance lessons in Edinburgh still work for us?
You are exactly the couple these lessons are made for. Most people who come to us have never danced a step in their lives, so your choreographer picks moves that look far trickier than they are and layers them in small pieces until they feel like second nature — nerves handled at no extra cost.
How far in advance should we start our first dance lessons in Edinburgh?
Most couples give themselves two to three months, coming in weekly or fortnightly with a little practice at home in between. Cut it fine? Our two-hour Last Minute intensive has pulled couples through with a fortnight left on the clock, and there's usually a same-week slot.
Does our first dance have to be to a slow song?
Not remotely. Ballad, banger or something in the middle, the choreography gets built around whichever song matters to you as a couple, and if it runs long we cut it to a danceable length. Still torn? Ask your choreographer and a shortlist comes back pitched at the mood you're after.
Do you choreograph parent dances and group routines in Edinburgh too?
Gladly — the whole reception floor is fair game, not just the couple's own dance. Parent dances, entire bridal-party numbers and secret surprise routines are booked through our Edinburgh diary week in, week out, charged at the standard per-session rate, in our studios or wherever you're marrying.
Is it a problem if one of us is secretly dreading it?
That's practically standard, and it's fine. There's no class and no audience — just the two of you and the choreographer, who takes everything at the speed of whoever feels least sure. More often than not, the one dragging their heels is asking to add a lift within a session or two.
Where in Edinburgh do the wedding dance lessons take place?
Private partner studios in the New Town, the Old Town and down on the Leith waterfront, slotted into your week with evening and weekend times going — or the choreographer will come to your home or wherever you're marrying, right across Edinburgh and the Lothians. Loads of couples add a last run-through at the venue itself.
