How Your Line Dancing Party Runs

Hats On, Warm-Up

Your choreographer gets the country playlist going and walks the group through the building blocks — grapevines, heel digs and stomps. Within ten minutes everyone is moving and the Stetsons have stopped feeling silly.

Learn the Line Dance

The dance is taught in counted sections, wall by wall, and then looped until it locks in. Because the steps repeat, the moment the group gets through the sequence twice, the whole room clicks — even the self-declared non-dancer.

The Filmed Finale

Everyone in line, boots stomping in time, filmed from the front for the group chat. Line dancing in unison is weirdly satisfying footage — and any wobble just makes the video funnier.

Why Line Dancing Works for a Hen Party

Line dancing might be the most hen-proof theme on our list. Nobody needs a partner, everybody faces the same way, and the steps repeat in a loop — so once the group has been through the sequence a couple of times, even the friend who swears she cannot dance is carried along by everyone around her. It is also the rare theme where mistakes make the video better, not worse.

Your choreographer builds a proper line dance from real steps — grapevines, heel digs, stomps and quarter turns — set to anything from nineties country to the new Nashville-pop wave. Stetsons and cowboy boots turn the whole thing into an instant photoshoot, and if the hen weekend already has a cowgirl dress code, this is the theme that makes it all make sense.

Britain has been here before. The nineties line-dancing craze packed village halls across the UK, and Steps launched their entire career with 5, 6, 7, 8 in 1997. Now the boots are back: Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter and a wave of country-pop have made line dancing genuinely fashionable again. Your hen party will be right on trend — possibly for the first time in line dancing history.

No partners, steps that repeat, and hats that hide any panic — line dancing was practically invented for hen parties.

Achy Breaky Heart

The 1992 dance that started the craze — choreographed for Billy Ray Cyrus and still filling floors today.

Cotton Eye Joe

The Rednex stomper that conquered the UK charts in the mid-nineties — organised chaos in the best possible way.

5, 6, 7, 8

Steps' 1997 debut — the moment Britain turned line dancing into pure pop. An essential hen party inclusion.

Man! I Feel Like a Woman!

Shania Twain's anthem — practically written for a hen party finale, and your choreographer knows it.

Texas Hold 'Em

Beyoncé's 2024 country smash — the track that put cowboy boots back on dance floors everywhere.

Boot Scootin' Boogie

The Brooks and Dunn classic — a proper honky-tonk line dance for groups who want the real thing.

Country History Made

In 2024, Beyoncé became the first Black woman to top the US Hot Country Songs chart, with Texas Hold 'Em from Cowboy Carter.

Line Dancing Questions, Answered

How does pricing work for a line dancing hen party?

One flat rate for the whole group: from £140 plus venue hire for an hour, or £165 plus venue for ninety minutes. Whether ten of you show up or twenty-five, the price never moves — no per-person costs and no penalty if plans change.

Can the choreographer come to where we are staying?

Yes — in all 67 cities we cover, the choreographer comes to your hotel, Airbnb, hired hall or, very fittingly for this theme, the local village hall. You just need space for everyone to stand in lines. A partner studio is available if you would rather.

Half the group has never danced a step — honestly, will it work?

Line dancing is the theme we recommend for exactly that group. The steps repeat, nobody needs a partner, and everyone faces the same direction so you can follow the person in front. If you can walk in a line, you can dance in one.

Do you provide the hats and boots?

No — costumes and props are not supplied, so bring your own. Stetsons are cheap online, cowboy boots are optional (trainers work fine), and a matching set of hats for the group photo is worth every penny of the roughly-a-tenner it costs.
