Wedding Dance Lessons in Leicester
Bespoke first dance choreography from Leicester's own professional wedding-dance teachers — from a calm, confident sway right through to a full, show-stealing routine.
Your First Dance, Done Properly
Choreography Built to Your Song
Send us the track and the choreographer builds around it — the tempo, the line in the lyrics that lands hardest, the moment every phone in the room comes up. A stately waltz or something nobody sees coming: it is yours alone, made once, for the two of you. We teach couples marrying everywhere from a city-centre register office to a barn out in the Leicestershire countryside.
Built for Beginners
Almost everyone we teach turns up having never had a single lesson — and that is the whole brief. The routine looks lovely from the guests' tables while being stitched together from a handful of simple, repeatable moves. Already in one of our dance classes in Leicester? You will take to it in no time.
Lessons That Fit Leicester Life
Private one-to-ones at studios in the city centre and the Cultural Quarter, slotted around work and the wedding admin — evenings and weekends included — or the choreographer travels out to you across Leicester and the county. Sorting a hen party too? Same choreographers, one conversation.

Choose Your Dance Style
These are the first-dance looks people request most — and the choreographer will tailor whichever you fancy to your track and to how confident you feel on your feet.
Traditional Waltz
The evergreen choice — elegant, romantic and equally at home in a grand ballroom or a country marquee.
Modern Romantic
Relaxed, close-hold movement with the stiff ballroom frame stripped away — the two of you looking like yourselves, just a lot smoother.
Latin Fusion
Rumba and bachata warmth with a flash of theatre — chemistry the back row can feel.
Swing & Jive
Bright, bouncy and impossible to stay seated for — the one that yanks the whole room onto the floor mid-song.
Dramatic Spotlight
Big staged beats, dips and a lift or two, for couples after an audible gasp — built to be completely safe, then rehearsed until it feels like nothing.
Song Transitions
Begin on a soft, tender track and then flip into something the room never saw coming — a multi-song mash-up built for the biggest reaction of the evening.
From the Dance Floor
Real Leicester couples, on the first dances they actually danced.
"We'd fixated on the steps and completely forgotten the entrance. Our teacher choreographed the walk-on too, so when the doors opened we knew exactly where to stand and when to start. That calm at the top of the dance was everything."Married in Leicester
"We're both stiff, self-conscious movers and left it painfully late. One session in they'd loosened us up enough to laugh through it, and we came away with a routine that finally looked like us rather than two people counting under our breath."Last-Minute Package
"We disguised the whole thing as a best man's speech, then dropped the notes and launched into the routine mid-sentence. The room took a second to catch on, then erupted. The couple were laughing too hard to be embarrassed. Perfectly judged."Wedding Party Choreography

Wedding Dance FAQ
The bits Leicester couples usually want nailed down first — the nerves, the timing, choosing a song and where the sessions run.
Where in Leicester do the wedding dance lessons take place?
Private partner studios in the city centre — around the Highcross and St Martin's — and in the Cultural Quarter on Rutland Street, booked around your week with evening and weekend slots, or the choreographer comes to your home or wherever you are marrying, right across Leicester and Leicestershire. Plenty of couples add a last run-through at the venue itself.
We honestly can't dance — can wedding dance lessons in Leicester still work for us?
You are the exact couple these lessons exist for. Nearly everyone who comes to us has never danced a step, so the choreographer picks moves that look far harder than they are and layers them in tiny pieces until they feel like second nature — the nerves are handled for free.
How early should we start our first dance lessons in Leicester?
Two to three months gives you a relaxed run at it — weekly or fortnightly sessions with a little practice at home between. Cutting it fine? The two-hour Last Minute intensive has pulled couples through with a fortnight left, and there is usually a slot that same week.
Does our first dance have to be a slow song?
Not at all — ballad, floor-filler or something in between, the choreography is built around whichever track means something to the two of you, and if it runs long we trim it to a danceable length. Still undecided? Ask the choreographer and a shortlist comes back pitched to the mood you want.
Do you choreograph parent dances and group numbers in Leicester too?
Gladly — the whole reception floor is fair game, not only the couple's dance. Father-daughter and mother-son dances, full bridal-party numbers and secret surprise routines get booked here week in, week out, at the same per-session rates, at our studios or wherever you are marrying.
What if one of us is secretly dreading it?
That is close to standard, and it is completely fine. There is no class and no audience — just the two of you and the choreographer, who works at the pace of whoever feels least sure. More often than not the reluctant one is angling to add a lift by the second session.
