Wedding Dance Lessons in Cheltenham
First dance choreography made to measure by Cheltenham's professional wedding instructors — anything from an easy, assured sway to a showpiece the whole reception keeps talking about.
Your First Dance, Handled Properly
A Routine Built Around Your Song
Send over your chosen track and the choreographer designs to its shape — the pace, the lyric everyone leans in for, the drop where cameras appear. Whether that means a classic waltz or a surprise nobody predicts, the dance is built once and only for you two. The couples we work with marry in every kind of place, from a Cheltenham register office to a Cotswold barn.
Made for Total Beginners
Nearly everyone books in without a single lesson behind them. That is the whole point: a routine that looks polished from the guest tables yet is assembled from a handful of simple, repeatable moves. Already in dance classes in Cheltenham? You will be miles ahead.
Lessons That Slot Into Real Life
Private sessions run at central Cheltenham studios, fitted around jobs and wedding logistics, weeknights and weekends alike — or the choreographer drives out to you across Cheltenham and the Cotswolds. Sorting a hen party too? It is the same choreographers and a single booking chat.

Choose Your Dance Style
The most-requested first dance styles — your choreographer will bend any one of them to fit your track and your skill level.
Traditional Waltz
The timeless choice — elegant, romantic and just as at home in a Regency ballroom as a Cotswold marquee.
Modern Romantic
Relaxed, close movement that drops the stiff ballroom framework — for a couple who just want to be a smoother version of themselves.
Latin Fusion
The warmth of rumba and bachata with a hint of theatre — closeness the guests can read from the furthest table.
Swing & Jive
Quick, joyful and catching — the one that has guests up on their feet before the track even finishes.
Dramatic Spotlight
Staged lifts, dips and held poses for couples chasing gasps — engineered safely and drilled until they are certain.
Song Transitions
Start gentle, then lurch somewhere nobody expects — a multi-track mashup with the loudest reaction-per-second rate going.
From the Dance Floor
Real Cheltenham and Cotswold couples, in their own words.
"We asked for Fred-and-Ginger and admitted we owned no rhythm between us. The choreographer split the difference: all the elegance, none of the difficulty. The regency ballroom did half the work and nobody needs to know."Married in Cheltenham
"Our venue moved our slot forward an hour on the day. One panicked call and our teacher talked us through a shortened opening over the phone. It went perfectly and only three people know why."Last-Minute Package
"Second marriage, both of us. First time round neither of us danced. This time we opened the floor properly — and my daughter cutting in for the last verse was the moment of the whole day."Wedding Party Choreography

Wedding Dance FAQ
The questions couples ask most before booking first dance lessons in Cheltenham — from nerves and timing through to song choice and venues.
Honestly, neither of us can dance — will first dance lessons in Cheltenham still work?
That is exactly the couple these lessons exist for. Almost everyone we teach starts with no dance background whatsoever. Your choreographer chooses steps that look far harder than they really are, rehearsed in bite-size chunks until they run on autopilot — the nerves are priced in too.
How early should we get going on the first dance?
Two to three months ahead keeps it comfortable — roughly one session a fortnight, with a little practice between. Cutting it fine? The two-hour Last-Minute intensive has bailed out couples with fourteen days left, and we can normally slot it in within the week.
Are we free to choose whatever track we like?
Absolutely any track. Send it over and we build the routine around its tempo and standout moments; anything overlong gets trimmed to a length you can carry off. Not settled on one yet? The choreographer will suggest a shortlist to match the style you are chasing.
Can you also handle the father-daughter or mother-son dance?
Yes — we cover every dance at the wedding, not only the couple's. Parent dances, whole-party group numbers and secret surprise routines come through constantly, charged at the usual session rate, whether at our studios or your own venue.
One of us is secretly dreading the whole thing — then what?
So common it is practically the norm. Every lesson is one-to-one — no group, no spectators — and the choreographer sets the tempo around whoever is more anxious. By session two, the dread has usually turned into quiet showing off.
Whereabouts do the lessons actually take place?
Private studios in central Cheltenham, slotted around whatever your week looks like, weeknights and weekends too — or the choreographer comes to your home or venue anywhere across Cheltenham and the Cotswolds. Booking a last run at the wedding venue itself is a favourite extra.
