You Choose the Theme. We Choreograph the Routine.

Every hen party begins with a theme the bride will love — Beyoncé, ABBA, Wicked, anything from a list of 38+ — and finishes with the whole group nailing a routine they built together in one afternoon.

A professional choreographer walks you through it step by step in a private Lancaster studio, or brings the speaker and the party to your cottage, hotel or hired hall. The price is one flat figure for everyone, however big the group.

Learn it by mid-afternoon, spill onto Church Street for the evening, and reprise the whole thing at the wedding months later — that is a Lancaster hen weekend done properly.

A Single Price. Zero Per-Head Arithmetic.

Plenty of hen-party outfits still charge by the head, so the bill lurches every time someone drops out or a friend tags along. We don't. One fixed price books the whole group, whether six turn up or twenty-six.

Six hens or thirty, the figure holds — no one is penalised when plans shift.

  1. Choose your theme

Scroll the 38+ themes and choose the one that suits the bride. Can't split it between two? Your choreographer will happily stitch them together.

  2. Pick studio or come-to-you

A private studio in the centre with the bars a short walk away, or a choreographer who comes to wherever you are staying across the district.

  3. Learn the routine together

Taught in bite-size sections that assume nobody has danced before — no cliques, no judgement, nobody left by the wall.

  4. Perform it — maybe twice

We film the last run-through so it lands in the group chat that night, and a fair few routines earn an encore at the wedding.

Wedding Dance Lessons in Lancaster

The first dance is the most-filmed minute-and-a-half of the whole reception — too important to leave to a nervous shuffle. Our choreographers build a private routine around your song, from quietly elegant to full showstopper, in a Lancaster studio or out at your venue.

Most couples take four to six sessions in the run-up; the two-hour Last Minute intensive has salvaged more than one two-weeks-to-go panic. Packages open at £75, and song editing plus filmed rehearsals come in as you move up the tiers.

Questions, Answered

The questions we field most from Lancaster before a booking — where, how much, how new you can be, how far ahead. Anything else reaches us through the forms within a working day.

Whereabouts in Lancaster do classes and hen parties actually happen?

Studios sit close to the centre — an easy walk from Market Square and Lancaster station — with children's classes out in Bowerham, Scotforth and Hala. For hen dos and private one-to-ones, the choreographer will also come to your cottage, hotel or hall anywhere around the district.

How exactly does the flat-rate hen pricing add up?

A single figure covers everyone: £140 plus venue for the hour, £165 plus venue for ninety minutes, whether eight of you show or twenty-eight. No per-head sums, no penalty when the numbers wobble.

What do the weekly drop-in classes cost?

Every class is a flat £8, booked as a single drop-in or a four-week run, right across the twenty styles. There are no joining fees and no contract — sample one style this week, another the next.

Is any previous dance experience needed?

None at all — beginner tiers exist in every style, and hen routines assume half the room swears they can't dance. The teachers are working pros who are very good at getting first-timers moving quickly.

Who actually teaches for Dance Centre UK in Lancaster?

Working dancers and choreographers with real performing careers — people whose weeks include shoots, tours and theatre contracts, teaching in between. Children's classes are handled by DBS-checked professionals.

How early do we need to book?

Weekly classes you can usually join the same week. Hen parties want three to five months for a summer Saturday — those dates fill quickest — and couples planning a first dance should begin two to three months before the wedding.

What Our Dancers Say

Hen parties, first dances and weekly classes across Lancaster and beyond.

The 80s theme was for my mum's hen — second time around at sixty-one — and the class treated it as the celebration it was. Leg warmers, big finish, zero condescension. We were all in bits, happily.

Rhianne P. Maid of honour, Lancaster

The contemporary class is the only thing that's survived every one of my new-term resolutions. The hour is built so carefully that even on bad weeks I leave taller than I arrived.

Declan H. Weekly student, Lancaster

We booked lessons because our venue's floor was famously tiny. What we got was a first dance designed like clockwork for a postage stamp — every turn counted, nothing wasted, and it looked intentional because it was.
