About This Strictly Hen Party Dance Class in Gloucester

The Strictly hen is all about glitterball glamour: a cha-cha or a waltz-inspired routine, real posture and poise, and a great deal of sparkle. Gloucester lends itself beautifully to that sense of elegance, too. The cathedral cloister, home to the earliest fan vaulting anywhere in the country and the very corridor that doubled as Hogwarts on film, is nothing but clean processional lines and grand, ordered geometry, which is exactly the kind of poised carriage we are after.

We will not be dancing beneath the fan vaulting itself, of course, but that upright, processional grace is what your choreographer brings to the routine. You will learn a ballroom or Latin number with a proper hold, a couple of turns and a showdance finish, all taught step by step so the group looks the part without needing a single lesson between them beforehand.

The class comes to you: a hotel ballroom, an Airbnb or a hired space around Eastgate or the Quays, whichever keeps your day flowing. The rate is a flat £140 for an hour or £165 for ninety minutes for the whole group, with an optional flat £10 of bubbly if you would like to toast your ten-from-the-judges finish.

What Our Hens Say

Strictly hen parties we have taught across Gloucester.

"The bride is Strictly-obsessed so this was always going to be a hit. We learned a cha-cha with a proper finish and felt genuinely glamorous by the end. The teacher made the hold so easy once she'd broken it down."

— Aimee Barrowcliffe ★★★★★
Strictly

"Something elegant rather than rowdy was exactly what we wanted and this delivered. Loads of sparkle, real poise, and a showdance finish that got a huge cheer. They came to our hotel so it was all very easy."

— Ffion Merrigan ★★★★★

"We were in bits at our first attempts at the frame and by the end we looked like we half knew what we were doing. Such a laugh and surprisingly graceful. The bride got her judges' ten moment."

— Saskia Boddington ★★★★★

"Glamorous, fun and lovely for a mixed-age group. We reprised the routine at the wedding thanks to the recap they sent. Ten from me, and from everyone else too."

— Lucia Fenwick-Tolley ★★★★★

Strictly Hen Party FAQ

Everything you need to know about our Strictly hen party dance class in Gloucester.

Which dance will we actually learn? +

Usually a cha-cha for something upbeat and sparkly, or a waltz-inspired routine for elegance, and we will match it to your group's mood. Either way you get a proper hold, a couple of turns and a showdance finish, all taught from scratch.

Do we dance in the cathedral or anywhere grand? +

No, the cathedral is inspiration for the poise and processional elegance rather than a venue. We bring the class to your own hotel, Airbnb or a hired space around Eastgate or the Quays, so the glamour comes to you.

Do we need a partner or any experience? +

Neither. The routine is choreographed for a group rather than couples, so nobody needs a partner, and it is built entirely for beginners. The choreographer teaches every step slowly and repeats it until the group is moving as one.

How much is it? +

A flat £140 for an hour or £165 for ninety minutes, for the whole group rather than per head. Bubbly is the only optional extra at a flat £10 if you would like a glass to toast the finish.

How many hens can join in? +

From about five up to twenty-five or more, all at the same flat price. A rough number when you book lets the choreographer plan the formations and the big showdance finish around your group.

Can we perform it again at the wedding? +

Plenty of groups do exactly that. Because you keep a filmed run-through and a written step-recap, the routine is easy to brush up and reprise on the dance floor at the reception.
