About This Burlesque Hen Party Dance Class in Gloucester

Gloucester keeps a proper cabaret streak tucked away, the sort that only wakes up once the Eastgate shops have shuttered and the Docks warehouses start glowing over the water. Our burlesque hen leans into that after-dark side of the city with feather fans, a chair, a glove-peel and a slow, deliberate strut, all taught so tastefully that it stays firmly in the realm of tease rather than pressure.

There is no troupe to audition for and absolutely nothing you are expected to take off; this is choreography, confidence and comedy in equal measure. Your choreographer teaches a whole routine with as much or as little sauce as the group is up for, so the shy ones can duck behind a fan while the bold ones happily claim the front row. Think of it a little like the Tailor of Gloucester stitching away in secret up on College Court: the whole art is in the slow reveal and the detail nobody sees coming until the final flourish.

We bring it to your hotel, your Airbnb or a hired room near Eastgate or the Quays, so the giggling can start in private rather than in a shared studio corridor. The price stays flat at £140 for the hour or £165 for ninety minutes, and if you want a glass of something to steady the nerves, bubbly is an optional flat £10.

What's Included in Your Burlesque Hen Party

  • A professional burlesque choreographer leading the full session from start to finish
  • A playful warm-up that shakes off both the nerves and the first wave of giggles
  • One complete tease routine covering the strut, the turn, some chair-work and a knockout finish
  • The classic moves broken right down: the glove peel, the shimmy and the over-the-shoulder look
  • Pointers on working a feather fan or a boa, whether you bring your own or improvise on the day
  • A thread of gentle confidence coaching woven through the whole class
  • A cheeky spotlight moment reserved for the bride, or the sauciest hen in the room
  • A filmed run-through kept strictly for the group and nobody else
  • A step-by-step recap sent afterwards so you can bring the routine out again another night

What You'll Experience at Our Burlesque Dance Class

  • A surprising rush of confidence the first time you land the strut
  • Blushing and belly-laughing in roughly equal measure
  • The whole room egging the bride on through her spotlight
  • Learning that attitude carries a move far further than flexibility ever will
  • A sultry, slowed-right-down routine that feels worlds away from the day job
  • Walking out standing a little taller than you walked in

Perfect For Your Gloucester Hen Do

  • Brides who want cheeky and empowering rather than raunchy
  • Groups chasing something with a bit more edge than a spa afternoon
  • Hens who love the theatre of feathers, gloves and a slow reveal
  • Parties wanting a confidence boost as much as a laugh
  • Mixed groups where nobody wants to feel put on the spot
  • Anyone who has always secretly fancied a go at a fan routine

What Our Hens Say

Burlesque hen parties we have taught across Gloucester.

"I was dreading feeling exposed and it was the complete opposite. Cheeky, hilarious and honestly a proper confidence boost. The teacher read the room perfectly and never once made anyone feel silly."

— Bethan Curnock ★★★★★
B

"We had it at our Airbnb near the Docks and spent the whole hour in hysterics behind our feather fans. The bride absolutely loved her spotlight bit. Cannot recommend it enough for a hen who wants a giggle."

— Nadia Postlethwaite ★★★★★

"Booked it half expecting cheese and got something genuinely classy and fun. The glove-peel bit had us all in stitches. Loads better than the club night we nearly did instead."

— Roisin Fairbrother ★★★★★

"Every one of us walked away standing that bit taller. Sultry, silly and completely un-intimidating. The step recap they sent meant we did it again at the after-party."

— Georgina Trigg ★★★★★

Burlesque Hen Party FAQ

Everything you need to know about our Burlesque hen party dance class in Gloucester.

Does anyone have to take anything off? +

Never. Our burlesque hen is pure choreography, character and comedy; the tease lives in the glove peel, the strut and the attitude, not in any actual stripping. You stay in whatever you feel great in the whole way through.

Where in Gloucester do you run it? +

We come to you. That is usually a hotel function room, an Airbnb, or a hired space near Eastgate or the Quays, which keeps the whole thing nicely private. If you would prefer us to book a studio, say the word and we will confirm the venue when you reserve your date.

None of us have danced before, is that a problem? +

Not in the slightest. Burlesque is one of the most beginner-friendly styles going because it rewards attitude over athletic ability. Every move is taught slowly and repeated, and you can dial the sauce up or down to match the group's mood.

How much does it cost? +

A flat £140 for an hour or £165 for ninety minutes, covering the entire group rather than each person. The single optional add-on is bubbly at a flat £10 if you would like a glass mid-session.

What should we wear? +

Something you can move in and feel a little glamorous in: think leggings or shorts with heels you can actually stand up in, plus a feather boa if you own one. We will let you know if there is anything worth bringing once your booking is confirmed.

How big can the group be? +

From about five hens up to twenty-five or so, all for the same flat price. Just give us a rough number when you book so the choreographer can plan the formations and make sure the space works.
