Class Structure

Beginners Class — 60 Minutes

0–10 min

Warm Up & Sync

We open with quick cardio and a unison exercise — everyone nailing a couple of simple counts at exactly the same instant — because the entire point of K-pop is a group that moves as one, not one dancer catching the eye.

10–25 min

Break Down The Point

Next we lift the track's defining gestures out on their own and take them apart at half pace — fingers, wrists, the lot — getting each one pixel-accurate well before tempo enters the picture.

25–40 min

Block By Block

The chorus gets handed to you a small chunk at a time — we run each chunk up to full speed and lock it in before adding the following one, which means no section ever quietly disappears.

40–50 min

Into Formation

After that we layer in where each dancer stands and how they trade places on the count — the ingredient that elevates a cluster of people into something resembling a genuine idol stage.

50–60 min

Run It & Record

Finally the whole section gets danced through together, with an optional recording so you can actually watch how synced the group is, and we wind down on a proper stretch.

About K-Pop Classes in Gloucester

Let's not oversell it: Gloucester has no standing weekly K-pop night, and there is little point pretending we could magic one into existence overnight. What we genuinely put on is simple and flexible — coach-led K-pop sessions in Gloucester built around your own dates, run either from a confirmed city-centre studio or taken out to a room near you, right across the city and into the county. For a fanbase that is real but thinly scattered, it finally offers somewhere to actually dance side by side.

K-pop choreography is a craft all of its own, which is exactly why getting a handle on it feels so satisfying. It runs on precise "point" moves — those signature gestures designed to be copied and remembered — laced into tight formations that shuffle and swap on the count, all served with a crisp, made-for-camera finish. We dismantle actual routines by the groups you already stream, drill the point moves slowly, then piece them back together at pace until everyone in the room hits them together like an act on stage.

You do not have to be a trained dancer to walk in, nor able to reel off every member's name — a genuine love of the songs is the only ticket. Maybe you have picked bits up in front of your bedroom mirror and want them tidied, or maybe you are starting from absolute scratch; whichever it is, expect unhurried counts, everything mirrored, and a room that is glad you came. Each class is £8, paid as you go, so a first attempt costs less than the merch you keep almost-buying.

Why Choose K-Pop in Gloucester?

Precision You Feel

The style is obsessive about clean, perfectly-matched detail, and drilling that sharpens your body awareness faster than most other forms of dance ever manage.

Formations & Teamwork

Working out who moves where, and when, quietly develops a real sense of space around you — and honestly, little beats the moment an entire room lands a formation on the exact same beat.

Local And Flexible

There is no fixed weekly room you must commit to — we arrange a central studio or take the whole session out to somewhere close to you, anywhere across Gloucester and the county.

Ready For The Camera

You walk away with actual, camera-ready routines drawn from tracks you are already obsessed with — post them if you want, or keep the buzz of pulling it off entirely to yourself.

Your K-Pop Journey

From first class to confident dancer — here is how it usually goes.

First Session

One Point Move

Nail A Single Gesture

In your very first session you lock down just one signature gesture — the hands exactly so, the timing exactly so — because that single detail is the seed of every idol routine going.

Land It Together

Then the group runs it together, so the sensation of moving in perfect step registers — that unison is the whole difference between K-pop and somebody dancing alone.

Weeks 2–4

A Full Chorus

Gestures Into A Chorus

Those individual gestures now join up into an entire chorus, which you can dance the whole way through without anyone reading the numbers aloud beside you.

Tighter And Faster

Bit by bit we lift the speed to match the record and sharpen every small detail, until what you are doing genuinely lines up with the video rather than waving vaguely in its direction.

Weeks 5–8

Verses And Switches

Beyond The Chorus

Now the work extends either side of the chorus, into the verse choreography and the position changes that move the whole group between a song's peak sections.

Perfectly In Step

You will find the whole line hitting the sharp accents at precisely the same instant, and a phone recording back suddenly resembles something choreographed for a real stage.

Ongoing

Choreo Goes In Fast

Faster Pick-Up

With every session your ability to see and retain choreography grows, so a completely new routine now goes in far quicker than that first laborious one ever did.

Build A Cover

A good number of our regulars aim the whole thing at producing a full dance-cover of a song they adore, positions, transitions and all.

K-Pop in Gloucester FAQ

Everything you need to know before your first class.

Do I need dance experience to start K-pop? +

Absolutely none. Every gesture is demonstrated facing the same way you are and taken right down in speed, which means a first-timer with zero background copes fine from minute one.

Is there a regular weekly K-pop class in Gloucester? +

Honestly, there isn't one — no permanent weekly K-pop night operates in Gloucester. Instead we organise coach-led classes directly with you, running them from a city-centre studio or bringing them to a space close to where you live.

Which groups and songs do you teach? +

A rotating mix of recent comebacks and older favourites, chosen by whoever is in the room — send over the acts you love when you enquire and we will shape the block around tracks you are desperate to learn.

What should I wear? +

Something you can move crisply in and a clean pair of trainers is all it takes. Many prefer close-fitting gear, purely because it makes spotting your own lines and spacing in the mirror that bit easier.

How much does it cost? +

It's a flat £8 for each class, handed over on the day. Everything is planned one-to-one between us, so no signature is needed and there is certainly no upfront termly charge.

Where do the classes take place? +

Two possibilities — a confirmed city-centre Gloucester studio, or a venue right where you are. The patch we serve runs across the city and out into the county, so Longlevens, Hucclecote, Quedgeley, Kingsway and Churchdown are all covered.

How do I get to the class? +

Gloucester has no tram or metro. If you are heading into the centre, the train station is just east of the main shopping streets and the bus station is central; and if we bring the class to you, how you get there is entirely down to what suits everyone.

Can we do this as a group booking? +

For sure. A standalone K-pop class works a treat for a hen do, a birthday or a group of mates — give us a rough number and your corner of Gloucester, and we will put a private session together.

Will we get to film the routine? +

Only if the whole group fancies it. When they do, we grab a recording on the final run-through so you can watch the sync back and hang onto your cover — but it is entirely voluntary and nobody gets talked onto camera against their wishes.
