Class Structure

Beginners Class — 60 Minutes

First 10 min

Warm and Mark

A quick, upbeat warm-up loosens the body, then we mark the very first section slowly at half speed so the shapes register before any pressure to keep up arrives.

10–25 min

Break Down the Point Move

Every routine has its signature point moves, and we isolate them, slow them right down and drill the angle and timing until the detail is genuinely clean.

25–40 min

Link the Section

The moves join into a full section of the choreography, counted through and repeated until you can run it without stopping to think about what comes next.

40–50 min

Place the Formations

We set who stands where and how the group moves and swaps between shapes, because the formation changes are what make a cover read as the real thing.

50–60 min

Face the Camera

We run the section to full speed a few times and film it if the group wants, chasing the sharp, confident finish that looks right back on the screen.

About K-Pop Classes in Oxford

The whole craft of K-pop dance is faithful covering — recreating the exact routine from an idol group's video, mirroring each move and every formation change until it reads like the real performance. Our K-pop dance classes in Oxford take that apart patiently: a routine is split into small sections, the signature point moves are isolated and slowed right down, and the fiddly details that separate a sharp cover from a rough one are cleaned one at a time.

On the local picture we would rather be candid than oversell. There is no established weekly K-pop night in Oxford for us to send you along to, so we do not dress one up. Everything here is instructor-led and arranged around you — a booked group session, a private lesson, or a workshop we bring to your own space anywhere in the county. It is a format that fits the style naturally, since covers are usually chased by a tight friend group determined to land one track together for a birthday, a society night or the video alone.

A session is equal parts choreography and camera. We learn the steps, then place the formations — who stands where, who steps forward for their moment — and finally face the phone, because half the joy of K-pop is the video you keep at the end. The Cowley Road and East Oxford side of the city has the youngest, most social energy for it, but beginners are genuinely welcome wherever you are: you need no knowledge of the group or the language, only the wish to move.

Why Choose K-Pop in Oxford?

Real Cover-Dance Method

We learn the actual video choreography move for move and formation for formation, so you are performing the real routine rather than a vague impression of it.

Honest, Instructor-Led

Oxford has no established weekly K-pop hub, so we do not fake one — you get straight instructor-led coaching, booked or brought to you, with no pretend history attached.

Formations and Camera

Point moves, group placement and the final clip all get real class time, because in K-pop the formation swaps and the camera angle matter as much as the steps.

Perfect for a Friend Group

Come-to-you sessions are ideal for a birthday, a society social or a group who just want to nail one song together, brought to a hall anywhere across Oxfordshire.

Your K-Pop Journey

From first class to confident dancer — here is how it usually goes.

Session 1

One Section, Clean

What clicks

Half of a chorus lands cleanly and in time — the moment most people realise a cover is learnable step by step rather than all at once.

What we add

The signature point move of the track, broken right down so its angle and timing are sharp from the start.

Weeks 2–3

The Whole Chorus

What clicks

The full chorus runs top to bottom without stopping, and the transitions between moves stop feeling like separate pieces.

What we add

The first formation changes, so the group starts moving as a unit rather than a row of individuals.

Weeks 4–6

Verses and Detail

What clicks

The trickier verse choreography and the little wrist, head and level details that separate a rough cover from a convincing one begin to stick.

What we add

Cleaner syncing across the group and a first proper filmed run, so you can see the progress for yourself.

Full Song

Camera-Ready

What clicks

You can perform the whole routine, in formation, straight to a phone — the clip you actually wanted at the start.

What we add

Polish on the ending pose, the facial energy and the timing, because that is what makes the final video look genuinely sharp.

K-Pop in Oxford FAQ

Everything you need to know before your first class.

Is there a regular weekly K-pop class in Oxford? +

Not an established one that we can honestly recommend, which is why we are open about it. Instead we run instructor-led sessions — booked groups, private lessons and come-to-you workshops — across Oxford and the wider Oxfordshire villages, built around the song you want to cover.

Where do the sessions take place? +

Either a booked studio near George Street and Gloucester Green in the centre, a Cowley Road / East Oxford space, or your own venue when we come to you. Because most K-pop is learned by a friend group, the come-to-you option is the one people choose most.

How much does it cost? +

A flat £8 per person for a drop-in session, paid as you go. Private group bookings, society socials and come-to-you workshops are quoted clearly in advance, with no hidden extras.

Do I need to know the group or speak Korean? +

Not at all. You need no knowledge of the artist, the fandom or the language — only the wish to learn the moves. We teach the choreography purely as dance, step by step, so complete newcomers to K-pop are genuinely welcome.

Can we pick the song we cover? +

Yes, and we encourage it. For a group booking you choose the track, and we break down its real choreography and formations. For drop-in sessions we pick popular, learnable routines, but requests are always welcome.

What should I wear? +

Comfortable clothes you can move sharply in and clean indoor trainers. Many people like an outfit that photographs well for the final clip, but that is entirely optional — for learning, comfort and a flat, grippy sole matter more.

Will we actually film it? +

If the group wants to, yes. Filming a run is part of the fun and a genuinely useful way to see your syncing and formations. It is never compulsory, though — plenty of people come purely to learn the choreography and enjoy the session.

Can you run a K-pop workshop for a birthday or student society? +

Definitely — it is one of our most popular come-to-you bookings. We bring the class to a hall, a college or university society room, or a party venue anywhere across Oxford and Oxfordshire, and build the session around one song your group wants to perform together.

How do people usually get to a city-centre session? +

Most use the Park & Ride, Oxford station or the Gloucester Green coach station and walk in, as central parking is limited and Oxford has no tram or metro. For come-to-you group bookings we choose venues that are easy for everyone to reach.
