About This Belly Dance Hen Party Dance Class in Oxford

Tie a jingling coin belt around your hips, cue the music and let a belly dance hen party Oxford begin. Your instructor teaches the genuine article — controlled hip drops, sliding figure eights, layered shimmies and expressive snake arms — cut into bite-sized pieces so complete beginners pick it up fast. Halfway through the session the whole group is moving in time, coin belts chiming together, edging toward a choreographed piece you will want caught on camera.

The class comes to you rather than the other way round, so there is no weekly hall to find: your teacher sets up in a hired room off George Street, a Gloucester Green hotel suite, or a Cowley Road or Jericho Airbnb, and travels out to Headington, Summertown, Iffley and across Oxfordshire. Every isolation is layered in slowly and the sections are stacked together, so the hen who arrived certain she would just watch is shimmying with the rest by the second half.

A belly dance hen do Oxford is one flat, up-front figure — £140 for a full hour, £165 for ninety minutes — covering the whole group instead of a price per head, so extra guests on the morning cost you nothing. Coin belts and a filmed run-through are part of it, a £10 group toast of bubbly is optional, and the celebration carries on afterwards around Jericho or Cowley Road.

What's Included in Your Belly Dance Hen Party

  • One professional belly dance instructor guiding the session from warm-up to final piece
  • A choreographed routine drawn from real technique — hip drops, sliding figure eights, shoulder shimmies and flowing snake arms
  • Jingling coin belts for the group so every move looks and sounds the part
  • Genuine Middle Eastern tracks played through our own speaker for authentic musicality
  • Travel to any venue you choose across Oxford and the wider Oxfordshire area
  • A single flat group rate agreed in writing before the day, never a per-head sum
  • The same choreography scaled from five hens up to a room of thirty
  • A phone-filmed run at the end so the routine leaves with you
  • Optional chilled bubbly at ten pounds for a group toast when the music stops

What You'll Experience at Our Belly Dance Dance Class

  • A gentle warm-up to find the hips and shoulders before the isolations begin
  • Hip drops and figure eights taught piece by piece, slow before fast
  • Shimmies and snake arms layered on until the group moves as one
  • Coin belts added so the whole room chimes together on the beat
  • A spotlight moment set aside for the bride in the closing routine
  • A last filmed run so the shimmies are saved long after the session ends

Perfect For Your Oxford Hen Do

  • Groups wanting something graceful, expressive and a little different
  • Mixed-age parties from young bridesmaids to the bride's mum and aunts
  • Hens who think they cannot dance until the isolations click
  • Brides after glamour, coin belts and a memorable set of photos
  • Parties who would rather learn a real skill than sit through another meal
  • Groups easing into a night out around Jericho or Cowley Road

What Our Hens Say

Belly Dance hen parties we have taught across Oxford.

"The coin belts stole the show. Picture twenty of us in a Summertown sitting room chiming away and fumbling figure eights — total joy, and the teacher never once let anyone feel daft about it."

— Yasmin Cottrell ★★★★★
BD

"I wanted a break from the usual pop routine and this nailed it. The snake arms felt genuinely elegant and, mortifyingly, we all started taking it far too seriously by the end. The bride glowed."

— Delphine Hartry ★★★★★

"Hands down the simplest thing I organised. She turned up at our Cowley Road Airbnb, was ready inside ten minutes, and had the lot of us moving. One price for everyone kept the whole booking painless."

— Saskia Trevena ★★★★★

"Mum swore blind she was only there to spectate and was leading the front row by halfway. We filmed the last run and it is still doing the rounds on our group chat."

— Aoife Docherty ★★★★★

Belly Dance Hen Party FAQ

Everything you need to know about our Belly Dance hen party dance class in Oxford.

Do you need experience to try belly dance? +

Not in the slightest. The whole style rests on small isolations that anybody can pick up, and part of the fun is discovering control you did not know you had. Your instructor introduces each movement gradually and paces the hour by the least confident hen, so newcomers are shimmying in time long before the finish.

Where in Oxford is the class held? +

At whatever venue works for you. We bring everything to a hired room near George Street or Gloucester Green, a central hotel suite, or a Cowley Road or Jericho Airbnb, and we travel out to Headington, Summertown, Botley and across Oxfordshire. The coin belts, speaker and teacher all come to your door.

What does it cost and are coin belts included? +

The price is one flat figure for the group — £140 for an hour, £165 for ninety minutes — and yes, coin belts for everyone are part of it, along with the instructor, the music and a filmed run. Nothing is charged per person, so extra hens on the day do not change the total. A £10 group bubbly toast is the only optional extra.

What should we wear for belly dance? +

Something fitted enough that you can see the hips move — leggings and a vest top are perfect, and we bring the coin belts to go over the top. Bare feet or soft flats work best on most floors. Anything floaty over the hips photographs beautifully but is entirely optional.

Is belly dance suitable for a mixed-age hen group? +

Very much so. It is low-impact, there is no jumping or partner work, and the isolations suit every age and fitness level. We regularly teach parties spanning teenage bridesmaids to grandmothers, and the shared coin-belt jingle tends to unite the whole room within minutes.

Can you travel outside central Oxford? +

Yes. Places like Abingdon, Kidlington and Witney are separate towns rather than parts of Oxford, but the instructor happily travels to them and throughout Oxfordshire. Send the postcode and we confirm the travel band alongside the quote — the flat class rate itself stays the same.
