About This Chicago Hen Party Dance Class in Lancaster
Chicago is all smoke, sequins and razzle-dazzle — the smouldering jazz of Roxie, Velma and a chorus line of merry murderesses. We turn that sharp Fosse-style attitude into a hen party routine your group learns together, chairs, bowler-hat rolls and slinky isolations included.
Your choreographer breaks the number down into slow, deliberate sections — a shoulder here, a hip snap there — so the smoulder builds without anyone feeling out of their depth. Complete beginners are exactly who this is built for, and by the finish the whole group is dripping with cool.
There is a cheeky local resonance too: Lancaster Castle served as a working gaol right up to 2011, so a spot of jailhouse jazz feels rather at home in the old county town — handled with a wink rather than anything heavy. We charge £140 for the hour or £165 for ninety minutes and travel to wherever your weekend is based.

What Our Hens Say
Chicago hen parties we have taught across Lancaster.
"We did the bowler-hat routine in our hotel function room and honestly felt like the real cast. Our teacher was hilarious and got fourteen clueless beginners smouldering in an hour."
— Ffion Sowerbutts ★★★★★"All the sequins, all the sass. The bride's little solo bit had us screaming. Such a classy alternative to another night out in town — we loved every second."
— Leonie Pilkington ★★★★★"Slinky, funny and so well taught. Mixed ages from 25 to 60 and everyone kept up. The video looks unreal, we cannot stop watching it."
— Marnie Threlfall ★★★★★"The jailhouse-jazz joke about the old castle gaol went down a treat. Brilliant hour, brilliant choreographer, would book again in a heartbeat."
— Robyn Winder ★★★★★Chicago Hen Party FAQ
Everything you need to know about our Chicago hen party dance class in Lancaster.
We are total beginners — is that okay? +
More than okay. The Chicago routine is taught for people who have never danced. Your choreographer keeps the pace slow, repeats each move as much as you need, and makes sure the whole group can nail it before the class ends.
What is the price and what does it cover? +
It is £140 for one hour or £165 for ninety minutes, covering the instructor for the entire group, not a per-person fee. Venue hire is only extra if we book a room for you, and an optional bubbly toast runs at a flat £10.
Can you teach at our venue in Lancaster? +
Yes. We come to hotels, Airbnbs and function rooms across Lancaster and the Lune Valley villages. Just send us the location and a rough idea of the room and we will handle the rest.
How many hens can join? +
Roughly five to thirty-plus. The flat price does not change with numbers, and the choreographer arranges the chorus line so small and large groups both look slick.
Do we need chairs or props? +
Not essentially. Chairs and bowler hats add lovely Fosse flavour if your space allows, but the routine works beautifully without them. Let us know what you have and we will plan around it.
What should we wear? +
Black is the obvious call — think sequins, fishnets, a feather boa or a sharp waistcoat. It photographs like a million dollars and pulls the whole vintage look together.
