About This Barbie Hen Party Dance Class in Lancaster

Lancaster already knows how to do a landmark in pink. Look up towards Williamson Park on a bright afternoon and the Ashton Memorial dome catches the light like the top of a giant jewellery box, so a candy-bright Barbie hen never feels out of place here. We bring the full routine to wherever your group has gathered, whether that is a hired room off Market Square or the lounge of a self-catered house near the quay, and turn a single giddy hour into the pinkest part of the whole weekend.

No two Barbie sessions we run are the same, because we build each one around the bride rather than a set list. Send us the track you cannot stop playing, be it a plastic-fantastic chart single or a shameless throwback, and your choreographer turns up with the whole thing already chopped into small, forgiving pieces that a complete beginner can follow, plus a bag of boas and enough pink to go round twice.

There is a certain grand-folly glamour to this city that suits the theme too. Lord Ashton, the linoleum magnate who paid for that hilltop memorial, built Lancaster its most extravagant flourish, and we borrow a little of that over-the-top confidence for the class, all posing, sparkle and comic seriousness. You supply the giggles and the group; we supply the choreography, the props and the finale worth filming.

What's Included in Your Barbie Hen Party

  • One patient, professional Dance Centre UK choreographer for the whole session, entirely at ease with people who have never danced a step
  • A Barbie routine set to a pop track you pick yourselves, taught slowly and in order so no one gets lost
  • Feather boas, sashes and a few sparkly bits handed round for the photographs
  • One flat fee, £140 for the hour or £165 for ninety minutes, covering the entire group rather than charging per person
  • An optional glass of bubbly ready for the bride's toast at a flat £10, added only if you want it
  • The instructor travelling to you anywhere across Lancaster, from a central studio to a hotel function room or holiday let
  • A short practice clip on request so the hens can learn the moves ahead of the day
  • Choreography sized to your numbers, whether that is a table of six or a thirty-strong takeover
  • A confident full-speed finish, filmed on your phones to keep for the bride

What You'll Experience at Our Barbie Dance Class

  • A gentle warm-up to loosen everyone off and quiet the nerves
  • The routine handed over in bite-sized chunks that repeat until they stick
  • Plenty of laughing, restarting and striking a pose, because this is a party and never a test
  • A built-in solo moment where the bride gets the spotlight to herself
  • A group photo in full pink regalia against whatever backdrop your venue gives you
  • One last run at full pace, captured to enjoy again later over cocktails

Perfect For Your Lancaster Hen Do

  • Hen weekends basing themselves around Market Square, Church Street or a house near the canal
  • Brides who adore the film, love a big daft pop song and will take any reason to wear pink
  • Mixed groups where a couple of hens swear they cannot dance and nobody cares
  • An afternoon warm-up before a night out around the Lancaster city centre
  • Weekends stitched together from prosecco, brunch and one photo-worthy thing to do
  • Friends travelling in from the Lune Valley and beyond for a city-centre celebration

What Our Hens Say

Barbie hen parties we have taught across Lancaster.

Barbie

"Booked it for my sister and it was the highlight of the whole weekend. The choreographer had even the shyest of us posing and howling by the end."

— Kayleigh G. ★★★★★

"So much pink, so much laughing. She broke the routine down so gently that nobody felt daft, and the video is now our group chat's favourite thing."

— Shauna V. ★★★★★

"We were nervous none of us could dance but it did not matter one bit. An hour flew by and the bride got her big solo moment."

— Leanne K. ★★★★★

"Came in from the Lune Valley for the hen do and this was the bit everyone keeps talking about. Brilliant fun from start to finish."

— Roisin J. ★★★★★

Barbie Hen Party FAQ

Everything you need to know about our Barbie hen party dance class in Lancaster.

Do any of us need to have danced before? +

Not at all, and most hens genuinely have not. The Barbie routine is designed for total beginners, taught in small repeating sections at whatever pace the group is comfortable with. If a couple of you are convinced you have two left feet, that is completely normal and we plan for it.

Where in Lancaster does the class actually happen? +

Wherever suits your weekend. We can point you to a central studio near Market Square or the quay, or the choreographer will come to your hotel function room or self-catered house. All we need is a room with a bit of clear floor and a way to play music; we confirm the exact spot once you book.

How much is it and what does the price cover? +

It is a flat £140 for a full hour or £165 for ninety minutes, and that covers the whole group rather than each head. The only optional extra is bubbly for the bride's toast at a flat £10, added only if you ask for it.

Can we choose the song for the routine? +

Yes, and we would love you to. Send us your pick when you book, whether it is a glossy chart hit or a cheesy singalong, and your choreographer builds the moves around it. If you cannot decide, we will happily suggest a few reliably fun options.

What size of group works for this? +

Anything from about five up to thirty or so. The choreography is scaled to your numbers so a small, tight-knit group and a big rowdy one both get a routine that suits them. If your party sits outside that range, just ask and we will work something out.

What should everyone wear? +

Anything pink and comfortable that you can move in, with flat shoes or trainers. Plenty of groups go all in with sashes and accessories, and we bring boas and props to add to the picture, so there is no need to buy anything special.
