Class Structure

Beginners Class — 60 Minutes

First 8 min

Learn the Chorus Slow

We take the hook of the track — the bit everyone knows — and walk it through at half speed, so the shapes go in cleanly before the tempo ever climbs.

8–22 min

Section by Section

The routine is cut into short blocks and each is drilled on repeat, count by count, the same way the groups themselves rehearse, until the block runs without you chasing it.

22–38 min

Faces and Formations

We add where you look and where you stand, because K-pop is built for the camera — the angle of the head and the swap of position matter as much as the arms.

38–50 min

Run It to Tempo

The blocks join up and lift to full speed, and we run the chorus as one piece so it feels like the record rather than a set of separate counts.

50–60 min

Film and Cool Down

An optional phone clip catches the run so you can see exactly what to sharpen, then we stretch out and finish on the chorus.

About K-Pop Classes in Swansea

Nothing in pop is drilled tighter than K-pop — every accent pinned to the beat, formations swapping mid-phrase, a camera catching all of it. Swansea has no standing weekly K-pop class to send you to, so we are upfront: our K-pop dance classes in Swansea run instructor-led and come-to-you, taking authentic title-track choreography — girl-group and boy-group alike — apart and rebuilding it one count at a time.

It is a young enough city to suit a dance built for the lens. Swansea University sits right on the sand at Singleton Park and Brynmill, that seafront campus keeps Uplands and Brynmill busy with students, and a phone-first generation takes naturally to routines meant to be filmed. We hold sessions in the city centre and on the Uplands side, and we bring the class to student societies and groups across Swansea, the Mumbles and Gower.

You need no prior dancing and not a word of Korean — the counts carry everything, and the pace only lifts once the slow run is solid, so a first night still finishes on a chorus you would happily film. An optional weekly phone clip shows you exactly what to sharpen. The adult class runs from school-leavers to dancers in their seventies, under-18s have their own supervised groups, and £8 gets you in with nothing to sign.

Why Choose K-Pop in Swansea?

Built for the Lens

K-pop is made to face a camera, and an optional weekly phone clip shows you exactly what to sharpen — the fastest honest feedback there is.

Honest and Instructor-Led

No invented weekly hub — we run K-pop come-to-you and by request across Swansea, so what you book is exactly what you get, pitched to your group.

Real Title-Track Choreography

Actual routines from girl and boy groups, straight off the release and simply slowed enough for a newcomer to stay with the room — not diluted knock-offs.

No Background, No Korean

You need no prior dancing and not a word of Korean; the counts carry everything and the pace only climbs once the slow run is solid.

Your K-Pop Journey

From first class to confident dancer — here is how it usually goes.

Weeks 1–4

Locking the Chorus

What settles

The hook of a track goes in at slow speed, so the part everyone recognises is the first thing you can actually dance.

Where we go next

The verse blocks, count by count, so the routine grows outward from the chorus you already own.

Month 2

Full Speed

What settles

A whole routine runs to tempo without falling apart, the blocks joined so it feels like the record instead of separate sections.

Where we go next

Faces, angles and formations, so the dance reads to a camera and not just to the mirror.

Months 3–5

Camera-Ready

What settles

You can film a clean run and be pleased with it, holding the timing even when the phone is pointed your way.

Where we go next

Sharper accents and the group's exact styling, the small details that separate a copy from the real thing.

Month 6+

Any Comeback

What settles

New title tracks come together far quicker, because your eye for counts and formations is trained rather than guessed.

Where we go next

Harder choreography and real performance edge, so you dance a comeback rather than survive it.

K-Pop in Swansea FAQ

Everything you need to know before your first class.

Is there a weekly K-pop class in Swansea? +

Not a standing one, so we are upfront about it. We run K-pop in Swansea instructor-led and come-to-you — sessions and society bookings built on request across the city, the Mumbles and Gower — rather than pretending to hold a fixed weekly hall.

How much is a class? +

A session is a flat £8 with nothing to sign, paid as you go. Private groups and society bookings are quoted clearly in advance, with no membership involved.

Do I need any dance background? +

None at all. The counts carry everything, and the tempo only lifts once the slow run is solid, so even a first night finishes on a chorus you would be glad to film.

Do I need to speak Korean? +

No — not a word. We learn the choreography by count and by shape, and the language of the track makes no difference to picking up the routine.

Which groups and songs do you teach? +

Authentic title-track choreography from girl groups and boy groups alike, taken straight from the release and slowed just enough for a newcomer to stay locked in with the room — not watered-down imitations.

What should I wear? +

Comfortable clothes you can move sharply in and clean trainers. Bring water. Many groups' routines have a look, but you never need to dress the part to learn the steps.

Can you teach my society, party or group? +

Yes — come-to-you sessions for university societies, birthdays and hen groups are a big part of what we do, in a space anywhere across Swansea, the Mumbles and Gower, built to the group's level.

Is the filming compulsory? +

Not remotely. The weekly phone clip is optional and only there so you can see what to sharpen. If you would rather not be filmed, we simply do not point the camera your way.

Do you run sessions for children and teenagers? +

The adult session runs from school-leavers upward, with under-18s taught in their own supervised groups. Come-to-you workshops can be shaped for younger age groups on request.
