Class Structure
Beginners Class — 60 Minutes
Loosen Up, Learn the Alphabet
A gentle warm-up, then the core steps by name — grapevine, shuffle, coaster, pivot — because knowing the words makes every dance quicker to learn.
Walking the New Dance
This week's dance taught without music, wall by wall, every step called aloud — the pace is set by the newest person in the room.
Up to Tempo
The track goes on at friendly speed and creeps toward full tempo as the lines settle — the moment the room clicks together is the best sound in the building.
Back Catalogue
A dance from previous weeks returns — partly revision, mostly because everybody enjoys the proof of progress.
Requests and Cool-Down
The room votes on a closer, dances it with feeling, and stretches out to whatever song won.
About Line Dancing Classes in Glasgow
Line dancing asks less of a beginner than any style we teach: no partner, no improvising, everybody facing the same way and every step called out loud. Our line dance classes in Glasgow run from country standards through pop, soul and rock-and-roll remixes — a far wider record box than the Stetson stereotype suggests, which is why the playlist keeps surprising people.
Glasgow takes to it naturally. This is a city where country music has kept a devoted audience for generations, and where dancing in a big friendly crowd at a wedding is practically a civic duty. Classes run at central partner studios in the Merchant City and Finnieston, exact venue confirmed on booking, minutes from Central, Queen Street and the Subway loop.
It is also our most sociable hour, with the widest age spread on the timetable and regulars travelling in from Stirling, Edinburgh and across the west of Scotland. A drop-in costs £8 with no commitment — come once, learn a dance, and see whether the atmosphere lets you leave it at once.

Why Choose Line Dancing in Glasgow?
Come as One
Line dancing has no partner economy — singles, couples and entire friend groups all slot into the same lines the same way.
A Wide Record Box
Country anthems share the playlist with pop, soul and rock-and-roll line dances — whatever era you love, it comes around.
The Gentlest Learning Curve
Called steps, repeating walls and unhurried teaching — plus a quiet memory workout your brain will thank you for later.
Regulars Who Stay
The chat is half the appeal: birthdays get celebrated, new faces get adopted, and the room feels like a local within three visits.
Your Line Dancing Journey
From first class to confident dancer — here is how it usually goes.

Line Dancing in Glasgow FAQ
Everything you need to know before your first class.
Where in Glasgow are the line dancing classes held? +
At central partner studios in the Merchant City and Finnieston, with the exact venue confirmed when you book. Central, Queen Street and the Subway loop make it an easy trip from anywhere in the west of Scotland.
What does line dancing in Glasgow cost? +
£8 per drop-in session — no membership, no strings. Discounted block bookings arrive once your studio's weekly slot is settled.
Is line dancing really okay for total beginners? +
It is the single easiest way into dance we know. Steps are taught without music first, called aloud throughout, and the dance repeats every wall — the structure practically catches you.
What should I wear — is western gear expected? +
Nothing themed is required: comfy clothes and smooth-soled shoes you can pivot in are the whole dress code. Boots and hats are welcomed seasoning, not uniform.
Do I need to bring a partner? +
No — and that is precisely the point of the style. The whole room dances the same steps in lines, so nobody is ever the odd one out.
Is it country music all night? +
Country features, but the modern line dance songbook borrows heavily from pop, soul and rock and roll. Expect at least one track each week that surprises you.
I'm in my sixties — is this class for me? +
Very much so. Our range runs to 75, line dancing carries the broadest age spread we teach, and the over-sixties are usually the ones showing off by month two.
What happens if I blank mid-dance? +
You glance at the line in front, steal two counts and rejoin — a manoeuvre so universal it is basically part of the choreography. The repeating walls always bring the dance back to you.
Can I book line dancing for a group or hen do in Glasgow? +
Absolutely — office socials and birthday gangs drop in all the time, and for a private themed session our line dancing hen party format takes over from there.
