About This Grease Hen Party Dance Class in Durham
Few themes get a hen group grinning faster than Grease. Your choreographer builds a lively rock-and-roll number from the film's showstoppers — the hand-jive at its heart, a swaggering nod to Greased Lightnin' and cheeky Pink Ladies attitude threaded through. It starts gentle and simple, so within a song or two the whole party is clicking, clapping and bopping like a proper 1950s sock hop.
Durham suits it perfectly: a small, lively city where students and locals spill out along the cobbles and down toward the river of an evening. Book a central studio a minute from the Market Place, or have us pack the whole thing up and bring it to your hotel suite, holiday cottage or village hall right across County Durham. It is the ideal high-spirits opener before dinner and drinks in town.
You do not need a scrap of dance background. We coach in tiny, friendly steps and keep the mood daft and warm, so nerves melt away in minutes. Come the last run-through you will have a punchy, camera-ready routine — the sort that gets grandmas, bridesmaids and the bride herself up and jiving at the wedding do.

What Our Hens Say
Grease hen parties we have taught across Durham.
"My nana out-jived the lot of us and the bride cried laughing. Ten minutes in we were all clicking away like it was 1958."
— Steph Hartbridge, Gilesgate ★★★★★"Booked a studio by the Market Place then rolled out into town. Daft, easy and the best possible warm-up to the weekend."
— Ngozi Achebe, Elvet ★★★★★"We filmed our take and it stole the show at the evening do. Sixteen of us, not a dancer among us, all grinning like fools."
— Carys Fenwicke, Neville's Cross ★★★★★"They rocked up to our cottage with a speaker and turned the front room into a jukebox. Feel-good the whole hour through."
— Roisin Mallaby, Framwellgate Moor ★★★★★Grease Hen Party FAQ
Everything you need to know about our Grease hen party dance class in Durham.
We have never danced — is Grease really beginner-friendly? +
It is genuinely one of the easiest themes we run. The hand-jive alone is mostly claps, clicks and rolls of the hands, and everything else is stacked on top slowly. Most Durham groups are jiving confidently inside the first ten minutes, whatever their age or ability.
What does it cost, and are there any per-head charges? +
It is a flat £140 for an hour or £165 for ninety minutes — that price covers the whole group, never per person. The only possible extra is room hire if you need us to book a space. A chilled fizz toast can be added for a flat £10 bottle for the group.
Is it worth getting dressed up? +
Half the fun is the outfits — poodle skirts, leather jackets, satin Pink Ladies jackets and a headscarf or two look fantastic on camera. It is never compulsory, though, and plenty of groups simply turn up in comfy clothes and flat shoes ready to move.
Can you come to us, or do we travel to a studio? +
Either works. We run sessions at a central studio moments from the Market Place, or we load the car and come to you — a hotel function room, an Airbnb, or a hall out in Chester-le-Street, Bowburn or Framwellgate Moor. We lock in the exact spot when you book.
Can we choose the songs and the vibe? +
Absolutely. Tell us whether you want sassy Pink Ladies energy, a big full-cast singalong or a blend of the two, plus any favourite numbers, and your choreographer shapes the whole routine to match your group.
What size of group works best? +
Anywhere from about six to thirty hens. Larger, mixed-age Durham parties are especially brilliant for this one — the more feet stamping and hands clicking, the closer it feels to a packed 50s dancehall.
