Dance Classes in Brighton
Pick From Twenty Styles Across Brighton
Every Level, Honestly
Brighton already dances hard — Marina Studios, BN1 Arts Centre, South East Dance at The Dance Space, Streetfunk and Ballet Brighton have the city well covered, and we are not pretending otherwise. What we add is a plain-spoken way in for the outright beginner: twenty styles under one roof, each opened up move by move by a working professional who assumes you have never counted an eight in your life. Sorting a hen do as well? One booking covers both.
Built Around Brighton Evenings
Evening and weekend sessions land close to the centre, a short walk from Brighton station rather than out at the Marina — the seafront Volk's line is the world's oldest operating electric railway and a lovely heritage ride, but it was never a commuter service, and the city runs no tram. Come straight off the train, drop in when the week allows, or take a four-week run. Getting married? The choreographers who cover our wedding dance lessons work the very same studios.
A Flat £8, Nothing Hidden
It stays a flat eight pounds whether you come once or reserve four weeks at a stretch — no membership, no sign-up fee, and nothing ticking over on your card behind your back. Give heels a go one week and flamenco the next. And in a city that throws one of the country's biggest Pride weekends, the floor is genuinely open to everyone as they are; the only thing we ask you to leave at the door is the nerves. Ready to begin? Get in touch.

Dance Classes in Brighton FAQ
The things first-timers most often ask before booking a class.
What does a class in Brighton actually cost?
One flat rate covers it: eight pounds a class, and if you reserve four weeks together the per-session price does not budge. No contract binds you, no joining fee lands up front, and nothing auto-renews in the background — you cover only the weeks you turn up for.
Where in Brighton do the classes run, and how do I get there?
Adult sessions gather near the North Laine and the Lanes, a few minutes on foot from Brighton station, so the coastway and mainline trains set you down almost at the door. Note there is no tram or metro in the city, and the seafront Volk's railway is a heritage attraction rather than transport, so most people arrive by train or bus since central parking is tight. Children's classes sit closer to home across Hove and the coast, and every style page lists its own venue.
I have never danced — what happens in a first class?
You are unlikely to stand out; nearly everyone arrives having never danced. Turn up in comfy kit and flat trainers that grip the floor, bring a water bottle, and come a few minutes early so the teacher can place you at the right level. Each class opens by breaking the basics down to nothing, so there is no homework and nothing to prepare.
Do you teach children as well as adults?
We do. Plenty of the styles run age-grouped children's classes with every teacher DBS-checked, and among the youngest, street dance and ballet fill up first. Tell us your neighbourhood — Hove, Portslade, Preston Park, out toward Rottingdean — and we will steer you to the closest group.
Do the partner styles mean I need to bring someone?
Not at all. The partner styles rotate the whole floor as a matter of course, so arriving solo is completely normal — it is how most people come through the door. Bring someone and stick together if you like, or work round the room and dance with everyone; nobody is left standing at the edge.
