About This Belly Dance Hen Party Dance Class in Brighton

Belly dance is one of the warmest hours a hen group can share — flattering on every shape, forgiving of every ability, and quietly addictive once the first shimmy lands. A belly dance hen party Brighton comes to your door: the instructor brings the speaker and the music to your hotel, apartment or rented house, so there is no specialist club to find and no weekly class to chase down beforehand. It is the genuine article, taught with care, in a room where everybody feels at ease.

Your instructor begins with the hip — the drops, lifts and slow figure-eights that give the dance its signature flow — taken gently enough that a room of first-timers can feel it working almost at once. The shimmy follows, then the soft, framing arm lines, until the group owns a short routine that looks far harder than it felt. Everything is set for a circle rather than pairs, so nobody needs a partner and nobody is watched from the sidelines.

The rate is pinned to the group and never divided per head — £140 for an hour, £165 for ninety minutes — which makes a big gathering excellent value while a smaller one gets near-private attention. Finish a belly dance hen do Brighton with cocktails in the Lanes or a slow wander down to the seafront, still rolling a hip between sentences. A bottle of fizz for the bride can be added at ten pounds if you would like to raise a glass at the end.

What Our Hens Say

Belly Dance hen parties we have taught across Brighton.

BD

"I have been to hen classes where half the group hides at the back. Not this one — the teacher had every shape and age shimmying and actually enjoying being looked at."

— Yasmine D. ★★★★★

"The first hip drop got an actual cheer. It looks so intricate on the video and yet it came to us in about ten minutes flat. The bride was glowing."

— Leila F. ★★★★★

"Teacher came to our flat near the seafront, one price for the fourteen of us, no faffing with venues. Warmest, easiest hour of the whole trip."

— Soraya B. ★★★★★

"My mum came and swore she would just watch, then she was leading the shimmy by the end. We floated straight off to cocktails in the Lanes."

Belly Dance Hen Party FAQ

Everything you need to know about our Belly Dance hen party dance class in Brighton.

Do you need a certain body type to belly dance? +

Not at all — belly dance genuinely suits every shape, and that is a large part of why hen groups love it. The movement flatters rather than exposes, and the whole session is pitched at complete beginners. Wear something you feel good in, and your instructor takes the rest slowly enough that everyone in the room finds the flow.

Where does the class take place? +

Wherever suits your weekend — the instructor comes to your hotel, apartment or rented house anywhere across Brighton and Hove, speaker and music included. A clear patch of floor is all that is needed. If you would prefer a central Brighton studio instead, we can book one, but most groups are happy to keep it where they are staying.

What does a belly dance hen party in Brighton cost? +

It is a single figure for the whole group, not a charge per person — £140 for the hour, £165 for ninety minutes — so it holds steady whether numbers dip or grow before the day. The only possible extras are studio hire, if you want us to arrange it, and a ten-pound bottle of fizz for the bride.

What should we wear, and do we need scarves? +

Comfortable clothes you can move in — leggings and a fitted top are ideal so you can see the hip work. Hip scarves with coins are not required, but they are great fun and make the shimmies audible; if you would like a set for photos, mention it when you book and we will point you in the right direction. Bare feet or soft flat shoes both work.

Is it suitable if some of the group are nervous? +

Perfectly — it is one of the gentlest, least intimidating classes we teach. There is no partner work, no putting anyone on the spot and no fast counting to keep up with. Your instructor builds each move in layers and keeps the tone light, so the shyest person in the group usually surprises herself the most.

Can the routine be tailored to the bride? +

Yes — the base is an atmospheric belly-dance track, but if the bride has a favourite piece of music we will happily shape part of the routine around it. Let us know in the booking notes. We can also lean the styling more graceful or more playful depending on the mood the group is after.
