Class Structure

Beginners Class — 60 Minutes

0–10 mins

Warm Up for Sharpness

K-pop lives on clean, snappy movement, so we prime the neck, wrists, shoulders and hips to hit positions crisply rather than drift into them.

10–25 mins

Learn the Point Move

We start with the song's signature hook — the bit everyone recognises — and drill it until it is sharp, because nailing that one moment makes the whole track feel within reach.

25–40 mins

Build the Section

The counts around the hook get added a phrase at a time, mirrored slowly and repeated so the choreography sticks in order rather than in fragments.

40–50 mins

Formations and Facing

We map who moves where and when, so the spacing, the level changes and the direction you face all land together like the video instead of by luck.

50–60 mins

Run to the Track

The section runs full speed to the real song a few times, filmed if the group wants it, then we cool down and loosen the wrists and calves.

About K-Pop Classes in Blackpool

We set up K-pop classes in Blackpool on request and teach them instructor-led, and we will be honest about why: unlike a couple of the bigger university cities, Blackpool does not have a standing weekly cover-dance society meeting somewhere in town. Rather than borrow someone else's or pretend one exists, we run a proper class on demand — for a group, a party or a run of scheduled weeks — and teach the choreography the way it deserves.

K-pop dance is its own puzzle. The videos look impossible because they are precise: tight unison, constant formation changes, and the handful of sharp 'point' moves in every song designed to be instantly copied. We slow all of that down and rebuild it count by count in plain English — no Korean needed to follow along — so you learn the signature hits first, then the sections around them, then how the group moves through the formations without a collision.

Sessions run from a town-centre studio a short tram-ride from Blackpool North, or we bring the class to your own venue across Blackpool and the Fylde coast for a group booking. Wear clothes you can move sharply in and trainers you can pivot in, and bring water. It is £8 a session on the day — no term and no membership — and complete beginners who have only ever danced along in their bedroom are exactly who this is for.

Why Choose K-Pop in Blackpool?

Honest and On Demand

No invented weekly hub — an instructor-led class set up for real, whether that is a one-off group booking or a scheduled run, taught properly either way.

Plain-English Breakdown

Every count is explained in words you already know. You do not need any Korean, or any prior dance training, to keep up with the choreography.

Formations Done Right

The part most tutorials skip — who stands where and how the group flows between shapes — is taught deliberately, so it looks like a group and not a scramble.

Beginner and Under-18 Friendly

Bedroom-only dancers are welcome, and under-18s dance in their own age-grouped sessions with DBS-checked teachers, separate from adults.

Your K-Pop Journey

From first class to confident dancer — here is how it usually goes.

Session 1

One Song, One Section

In the room

The first class targets the chorus or dance break of a single track — the point move plus the counts either side of it.

By the end

You can run that section to the real music, roughly in time and hitting the signature move.

Early Weeks

Sharper and Fuller

In the room

We tighten the timing, clean the angles and extend the choreography toward a full verse-and-chorus.

By the end

The movement stops looking approximate and starts snapping into position on the beat.

A Few Songs In

Moving as a Group

In the room

Formations get more ambitious — crossovers, level changes and swaps that only work if everyone trusts the count.

By the end

The group can travel through the shapes cleanly and hold the spacing throughout.

Ongoing

Cover-Ready

In the room

Full-song choreography, performance energy and the facial and stage detail that sells a cover.

By the end

You have a complete routine you could film or perform — the thing that made you want to try it in the first place.

K-Pop in Blackpool FAQ

Everything you need to know before your first class.

Is there a regular weekly K-pop class in Blackpool? +

We run K-pop instructor-led and on request rather than as a fixed weekly society, because Blackpool does not currently have a standing cover-dance group. Depending on demand that means a group booking or a scheduled run of weeks — enquire and we will set it up honestly.

What does a session cost? +

£8 per session, paid on the day, with no term and no membership. For a private group booking we confirm the details when you get in touch, but the per-dancer class price stays at our flat £8.

Do I need to speak Korean or know the songs already? +

Neither. Every count is broken down in plain English, and while it helps if you like the track, we teach the choreography from scratch — knowing the song is a bonus, not a requirement.

I've only ever danced in my bedroom — is that OK? +

That is exactly who these classes are for. Copying idols at home is a great start, and we simply turn it into clean, learnable steps with the timing and formations added properly.

Where do the classes run? +

From a town-centre studio a short tram-ride from Blackpool North, or at your own venue for a group, anywhere across Blackpool and the Fylde coast. The exact location is confirmed when you book.

What should I wear? +

Clothes you can move sharply in and trainers you can pivot and drop in cleanly. Bring water — the sharp, repeated hits warm you up quickly.

Can we book it for a birthday or a hen group? +

Yes. A K-pop session makes a genuinely fun private booking — pick a track, and we teach your group the choreography and film the result if you like. Add the group details to the form.

Do you teach point choreography from any group? +

Within reason, yes — tell us the song when you enquire and we will confirm we can teach it well. Some choreography is more beginner-friendly than others, and we will be straight about what fits the time you have.

Do you run sessions for teenagers? +

We do. Under-18s dance in their own age-banded groups with DBS-checked teachers, run separately from any adult session. Note the dancer's age on the enquiry form.
