About This Belly Dance Hen Party Dance Class in Preston
Belly dance goes down brilliantly with a hen crowd because it is celebratory, forgiving and made for every shape of body in the room — nobody is measured against a mirror-perfect ideal. Preston, being the mixed and welcoming city it is, takes to it easily; there is no self-consciousness to talk anyone out of. We send one professional instructor to your group, most often a Fishergate city-centre studio, though your own hotel or Airbnb works just as well.
The session is built around the moves that make belly dance so satisfying to learn — hip drops, layered shimmies, slow figure-eights, snake arms and a veil flourish to finish. Your instructor isolates each one, drills it until it feels natural, then threads them into a routine the whole group performs together. It is far more about confidence and laughter than technical polish, and the shimmy has a way of turning a nervous room loose within minutes.
Everything happens in Preston's walkable centre or wherever your group is staying, and we cover Fulwood and the surrounding Lancashire towns too. It is one figure for everyone — £140 across the hour, £165 across ninety minutes — that does not shift if a couple more hens appear on the day. Chilled fizz on arrival can be added for a flat £10, and the whole cost is confirmed in writing before you book.

What Our Hens Say
Belly Dance hen parties we have taught across Preston.
"The most fun I have watched a group of nervous women have. Within five minutes of the first shimmy everybody had forgotten to be self-conscious. The veil finish photo is now the bride's favourite from the whole weekend."
— Verity Balshaw ★★★★★"Fifteen of us, every shape and age from 22 to 60, and the instructor made every single one feel brilliant. We did the class in a Fishergate studio then went straight out. Genuinely uplifting from start to finish."
— Sophie Catterall ★★★★★"One flat price and two friends who joined at the last minute cost nothing extra. The hip drops had us howling and the snake arms made us look weirdly elegant. Best pick for a hen do in Preston, hands down."
— Rachael Hindle ★★★★★"Booked it for my sister and it was the highlight of the day. The coin scarves jingling with every shimmy set everyone off laughing. The instructor celebrated all of us, whatever our shape. Would recommend to anyone."

Everything you need to know about our Belly Dance hen party dance class in Preston.
Do you need a certain body type or any experience for belly dance? +
Neither. Belly dance genuinely suits every body and every age, and that inclusiveness is a big part of why hens love it. No experience is assumed — the instructor isolates each move, drills it slowly, and builds the group up together. The least confident dancer in the room is usually grinning within minutes.
Where in Preston does the class run? +
Usually a Fishergate city-centre studio, or we travel to your hotel function room or Airbnb across Preston, Fulwood and the nearby Lancashire towns. The space only needs a clear stretch of floor. Send the postcode when you enquire and we will confirm it works before anything is booked.
What does it cost and does the price move with numbers? +
It is one figure for the whole party — £140 for an hour or £165 for ninety minutes — rather than a charge per hen. A couple of extra arrivals on the day make no difference to the total. The one optional extra is bubbly on arrival at a flat £10, all confirmed in writing before you commit.
Do we get to use veils? +
Yes — a veil flourish is one of the most loved parts of the class and makes a gorgeous final photo. The instructor brings veils to the session and teaches a simple, flowing move with them to round the routine off, so every group gets that dramatic finishing moment.
How big can the hen group be? +
From five up to thirty or more. The routine is taught to the whole group at once so nobody sits out, and larger parties work well. For very big numbers we will talk through the floor space you need and can send a second instructor so everyone gets proper attention.
What should everyone wear? +
Comfortable clothes you can move your hips freely in — leggings and a fitted top are ideal, and bare feet or soft flat shoes work best. Some groups tie a coin scarf or hip belt on so every shimmy jingles, which is great fun, but it is entirely optional and never needed to join in.
