Class Structure
Beginners Class — 60 Minutes
Warm Up Sharp
We loosen wrists, shoulders and knees and wake up quick reactions, because K-pop lives on hitting a clean shape exactly on the beat rather than flowing through it.
Watch and Map the Track
We play the section, spot the point moves and mark the counts together, so everyone knows where the landmarks are before a single step gets drilled.
Drill the Eight-Counts
The chorus is taken a few counts at a time, slowed right down and repeated until arms, feet and facing all land together instead of nearly together.
Add Formations and Facing
Once the steps hold, we place them in space — who steps forward, who slides back, which way you turn — so the routine gains the shape-shifting look of a proper cover.
Run to Music, Film if You Like
We run the section at full speed a few times, and anyone who wants a clip to practise from can film the last run before we stretch down.
About K-Pop Classes in Bournemouth
There is no dedicated weekly K-pop academy in Bournemouth — the town is a Dorset seaside resort, and cover dance here happens in pockets: bedrooms, university societies and the odd meet-up. Our K-Pop classes in Bournemouth give that a proper room and a proper teacher, learning real group choreography from current and classic releases, cleaned up move by move until it looks like the video rather than a rough copy.
K-pop dance is precision ensemble work — everyone hitting the same shape on the same count, the 'point moves' that define a chorus, the formation changes that swap dancers from front to back. We break a track into sections, drill the eight-counts, and then layer on the sharpness, the facing and the syncopation that make a routine read as K-pop and not just any pop number.
Because there isn't a fixed hall, this runs as a booked class — in a town-centre studio near the Square and Old Christchurch Road when one is scheduled, or brought to you and your friends. We cover Bournemouth and the Dorset coast: Winton, Charminster, Boscombe, Southbourne, Pokesdown and Westbourne. It's £8 on the day, no term signed and no card held. Bournemouth station is roughly a mile inland, so a bus or a short walk brings you in — there's no tram in the town.

Why Choose K-Pop in Bournemouth?
Point Moves Done Properly
The signature moves that make a chorus recognisable get isolated and drilled, so you nail the exact shapes people watch for rather than a vague approximation.
A Real Room for Cover Dance
Bournemouth has no standing K-pop academy, and we're upfront about it. We give the scattered cover-dance scene an actual studio, a teacher and clean choreography to learn.
Ensemble Precision
We drill the formations and facing that make a group look like one unit, so it reads like the music video instead of a line of people each doing their own version.
We'll Come to Your Group
No regular hall means we come to you — across Bournemouth and the Dorset coast, for university societies, friend groups, birthdays and private cover-dance sessions.
Your K-Pop Journey
From first class to confident dancer — here is how it usually goes.
Counts and Clean Shapes
In the room
The first month is about learning to hit a position precisely on the beat — mapping counts, drilling short chorus fragments and matching arms to feet.
By the end
You hold clean shapes on the count and dance a chorus section in time with the group.
A Full Chorus
In the room
We complete a whole chorus and start layering the sharpness and syncopation, plus the first simple formation change from front to back.
By the end
You dance a full chorus up to speed and move through a basic formation without losing your spot.
Whole Routine, In Formation
In the room
Verses and dance breaks get added, the formation changes get busier, and facing and levels are refined so the group moves as one picture.
By the end
You perform a complete cover from start to finish, holding your place through every formation.
Polish and Performance
In the room
We chase the fine detail — expression, timing accents and a confident stage face — and take on harder choreography from tougher tracks.
By the end
You dance covers with the crispness and presence that make them look properly performed, not just learned.
K-Pop in Bournemouth FAQ
Everything you need to know before your first class.
Is there a weekly K-pop class in Bournemouth? +
Not a permanent academy — Bournemouth is a seaside town where cover dance happens in pockets. We run booked K-pop classes in a town-centre studio when scheduled, and we bring them to groups across the Dorset coast.
How much does it cost? +
Eight pounds on the day. No block booking, no membership and no term — you only pay for the class you come to.
Do I need to know the routines already? +
Not at all. We teach the choreography from scratch, a few counts at a time and slowed right down, so complete beginners learn the same section as everyone else.
Which songs do you teach? +
A mix of current chart releases and well-known classics, chosen for choreography that's fun to learn and reads well in a group. If your crowd has a favourite, ask and we'll look at it.
Can you teach my friend group or society? +
Yes — that's a big part of what we do. We come to you across Bournemouth and the Dorset coast, to Winton, Boscombe, Southbourne and beyond, for societies, birthdays and private sessions.
What should I wear? +
Comfortable clothes you can move sharply in and clean trainers with grip. K-pop uses quick direction changes, so supportive footwear helps far more than fashion.
Will we film it? +
If you'd like to. A lot of people want a clip of the final run to practise from, so we film the last full-speed run when the group's happy for us to.
Do I need to be really fit or flexible? +
No. It's precision and timing more than athleticism at the start, and fitness builds naturally as the routines lengthen. Beginners are exactly who these classes are built for.
Do you run sessions for teenagers? +
Yes. Under-18s dance in age-banded groups with DBS-checked teachers, separate from the adult class. Put the dancer's age on the form and we'll place them in the right group.
