Class Structure

Beginners Class — 60 Minutes

0–10 min

Warm-up and sync drill

A brisk warm-up, then the whole room nails two counts in perfect unison — a small taste of the precision the genre is famous for.

10–25 min

Point moves, slowed

The track's headline gestures at quarter speed — the exact wrist angle, the exact head tilt — because in K-pop the details are the choreography.

25–40 min

Chorus, piece by piece

The chorus arrives in short fragments, each brought to tempo and made solid before the next joins the chain.

40–50 min

The formation map

Who stands where and how everyone trades places on the beat — the layer that turns a routine into a stage.

50–60 min

Full runs and receipts

The section danced end to end, filmed on request so the group can check the sync — the fandom's love language.

About K-Pop Classes in Exeter

K-pop choreography is a discipline in its own right: point moves engineered to be recognised in a two-second clip, formations that dissolve and reassemble on the beat, and a standard of sync most styles never attempt. Learning it properly is deeply satisfying — and completely possible for beginners, because idol routines are taught to idols step by step too.

Exeter, plainly put, has no established weekly public K-pop class at the moment, though the university's societies keep the fandom lively in term time. So we run K-pop as arranged and private sessions — book with friends, a society, a hen party or as an interested group of strangers we assemble, and we bring the choreographer and the mirror-slow teaching to you.

Sessions run at central Exeter studios around the Queen Street quarter or at your own venue anywhere in Devon. Pick the track when you book or let us choose a beginner-friendly title — either way the chorus will be yours by the end of the session.

Your K-Pop Journey

From first class to confident dancer — here is how it usually goes.

01

First chorus

Point moves land

The signature gestures come out clean at full tempo — instantly recognisable, deeply satisfying.

Counting in eights

K-pop's tight musical grid becomes familiar, and picking up fragments speeds up fast.

02

Sync tightens

Matching the room

You learn to dance to the group's timing, not just your own — the skill that makes a cover look professional.

Details sharpen

Angles, pauses and eyeline start matching the reference video frame by frame.

03

The stage picture

Formations flow

Position trades and level changes happen on the beat without collisions or panic.

Center time

Everyone rotates through the front spot — the K-pop tradition our sessions keep faithfully.

04

Full covers

Whole songs held

Complete choreography across a full track, formations included — a genuine dance-cover standard.

The group habit

Many groups make it a regular booking, working through a discography one session at a time.

K-Pop in Exeter FAQ

Everything you need to know before your first class.

Is there a weekly K-pop class in Exeter? +

Not an established public one at present — we say that plainly rather than pretend. We teach K-pop through arranged sessions and private group bookings, at central studios or your venue across Devon.

Can we choose the song? +

Yes — name the track when you book and the choreographer prepares the authentic routine, adapted honestly to your group's level. Undecided groups get a shortlist of beginner-friendly titles.

How much does it cost? +

Arranged open sessions run from £8 a dancer; private bookings are quoted as one flat figure for the group. No memberships, no hidden extras.

Do we need dance experience? +

No — idol choreography is taught to complete beginners the same way it is taught to trainees: slowly, in fragments, with the detail explained. Loving the music is the only prerequisite.

Where do sessions run? +

Central Exeter studios around the Queen Street quarter, or your own hall, office or party venue anywhere from Topsham to wider Devon.

Is this good for a university society or a hen party? +

Ideal for both — societies get proper technique for covers and showcases, hens get the funniest, most filmable hour of the weekend. Group pricing is flat either way.

Will we be filmed? +

Only if the group wants the clip — most do, since checking the sync afterwards is half the fun of a cover. It is your phone, your footage, your call.

What should we wear? +

Trainers and comfortable layers you can move hard in. K-pop routines are sweatier than the videos let on; bring water.

How do we book a session? +

The form on this page — tell us your rough numbers, preferred date and track if you have one, and we will reply within a working day with options and a price.
