Hen Party Dance Class Southampton
The Hen Do Southampton Groups Book First
The Whole Hen, One Routine
A dance hen party gets the whole group learning one routine together — no peeling off into separate taxis, no one left clapping from the side. Sixty or ninety minutes with a professional choreographer, ending on a filmed performance the group chat will still be quoting months on. Getting married yourself before long? Our wedding dance lessons run with these very same choreographers.
Steps From the First Drink
Partner studios around the Cultural Quarter and Above Bar drop the class a few minutes from Bedford Place cocktails and Oxford Street dinners, with the Ocean Village marina a short ride on — or your choreographer comes to the hotel or Airbnb wherever the group is based, speaker in hand. Anyone still buzzing at the finish can carry it into our weekly dance classes in Southampton.
38+ Themes, One Price for the Room
Decades, pop icons, Mayflower-worthy show numbers and dances from across the world — go with what the bride genuinely loves and the routine is built around her. The rate stays a flat £140 for the whole hen no matter the final count, so instead of £25 to £35 a head there is one fee to split between the group — for a dozen hens that lands a shade over a tenner apiece. With Southampton Central on the main line and the M27 close by, pulling a spread-out squad together here is easy. Lock in a date.
The Bride Picks the Theme
Over 38 hen party themes to weigh up — settle on whatever the bride loves most and the choreography is shaped to it. Every single one is designed for a group who have never rehearsed a step.
80s
Neon everywhere, hair teased to the rafters and choruses roared out at full tilt — an aerobics-flavoured throwback that leaves the whole hen pink before a drop is drunk.
80s Hen Party
90s
Boyband hand moves, girl-group hooks and indie-disco floor-fillers — and with Craig David and the Artful Dodger putting Southampton on the UK garage map, the 90s is about as home-city as a hen theme gets here.
90s Hen Party
2000s
Low-rise everything, lip gloss and the 2000s chart on repeat — poppy with a big R&B streak, and the whole hen knows every word without being told.
2000s Hen Party
ABBA
Glittering platform stomps, disco points and every ABBA chorus the bride secretly knows start to finish — sequins on, flares non-negotiable.
ABBA Hen Party
Ariana Grande
The towering ponytail, fast neat footwork and glossy diva pop — a slick, playful number that comes out looking like a proper pop promo on the phone.
Ariana Grande Hen Party
Barbie
Everything pink, plastic-fantastic posing and a bouncy toy-box catwalk — Barbieland turned all the way up, and the group photos come out like a doll advert.
Barbie Hen Party
Belly Dance
Loose hip shimmies, a coin belt that rattles and a floaty scarf in each hand — a giggly, glittering hour that genuinely suits every age and body on the hen.
Belly Dance Hen Party
Beyoncé
Knife-sharp formations, the famous ring-finger snap and enough presence to fill an arena — full Queen Bey, the bride out front and the crew fanned behind.
Beyoncé Hen Party
Bollywood
Big-screen filmi colour, storytelling hands and a beaming everyone-in finish — with a real South Asian scene behind it in Southampton through Art Asia and the summer Mela.
Bollywood Hen Party
Britney
Pigtails, red-catsuit sass and the hair flip everyone can picture — every Britney video you wore out as a teenager, this time drilled until it is genuinely sharp.
Britney Hen Party
Burlesque
Slow struts, a boa to hide behind and a knowing look over the shoulder — and to be completely clear, every layer stays on; the only thing you leave with is the swagger.
Burlesque Hen Party
Charleston
Kicking flapper feet, knees swivelling in and out and a speakeasy grin — jazz-age sparkle straight off the great liners that once sailed from Southampton, and daft enough that not one hen keeps a straight face.
Charleston Hen Party
Cheerleading
Pom-poms, roof-raising chants and a shaky pyramid if you dare — full-on team spirit, with the bride front and centre leading every count.
Cheerleading Hen Party
Chicago
Bowler hats, slow rolling hips and all the smoky swagger of the cell block — Fosse angles and jazz hands, with drama laid on by the bucket.
Chicago Hen Party
Commercial
Whatever is topping the chart this month, shaped into a routine you could film and pass off as the official video — sharp, of-the-now and made squarely for the camera.
Commercial Hen Party
Dirty Dancing
That slinky mambo, a wink of a shimmy and, for the brave, the lift itself with a proper spotter — and no, nobody is leaving this bride in the corner.
Dirty Dancing Hen Party
Disney
Full-lung singalong numbers from the films nobody will admit they still love — they do — so expect misty eyes and a handful of heroically ambitious high notes.
Disney Hen Party
Fame
Leg-warmers on, sweatshirt slipping off the shoulder and out to earn it — the crackling 80s stage-school dream, the bride's name finally up in lights.
Fame Hen Party
Flamenco
A proud straight back, heels drilling the floor and palms clapping a hard compás — flamenco is all fire and defiance, and it fills the room at full volume.

Welder-chic by day, dance-floor dynamite by night — a full-tilt routine ending on that iconic chair-back freeze, and yes, the whole thing stays completely dry.
Flash Dance Hen Party
Greatest Showman
Top-hat confidence, huge arms-wide staging and anthems built to shake the rafters — a bold, brassy showstopper that has the whole hen walking out unstoppable.

Grease Hen Party
High School Musical
All-together Wildcat energy and get-your-head-in-the-game bounce — a full singalong that drags even the hen insisting she has no rhythm right into the middle.
High School Musical Hen Party
Irish Dancing
Arms bolted to your sides above a blur of quick reels and jigs, then a chaotic céilí knees-up — much harder than it looks, and funnier with every single attempt.
Irish Dancing Hen Party
Line Dancing
Thumbs in the belt loops, boots stomping and the whole hen landing every heel-dig together — a hoedown forgiving enough that nobody stays lost past the first chorus.
Line Dancing Hen Party
Musicals
A quick tour through the biggest show-stoppers in one go — full-lung showtunes, flying jazz hands and a proper bow to close — the ideal warm-up before a touring show at the Mayflower Theatre.
Musicals Hen Party
Pole Dancing
Starter spins, daft poses and a whole lot of giggling — set in a specialist pole studio, never your accommodation, where all you need bring is a willingness to grip on and go.

Warm Cuban rhythm, unfussy turns and a rotation that keeps every hen on her feet — flirty, sociable and about as hard to get wrong as dance comes, run the way Salsa Southampton has done it since 1996.
Salsa Hen Party

Bouncing carnival footwork, feathers by the armful and a beat lifted straight off the parade — pure Ocean Village sail-away glamour, and even the reluctant ones cave within minutes.

- Pick a theme — 38+ to choose from; go for the bride, not the strongest mover in the group.
- Choose your date — Southampton summer Saturdays fill three to five months ahead.
- Studio or come-to-you — a central studio, or we travel to your stay right across Hampshire.
- Learn, laugh, perform — the filmed finale is included; encores are entirely up to you.

Hen Party FAQ
What the person planning it usually wants answered before booking.
How much is a hen party dance class in Southampton?
One flat price covers the whole hen — £140 for an hour or £165 for ninety minutes — with studio hire on top only if you use one of our rooms. It never shifts with numbers, so eight hens or twenty-eight pay the same rather than £25 to £35 a head, and a chilled bottle of fizz on arrival is £10 more.
Whereabouts in Southampton does the class happen?
Usually a private studio around the Cultural Quarter or Above Bar, which drops Bedford Place, Oxford Street and Guildhall Square right on the doorstep for after — or the choreographer travels to your hotel, Airbnb or hired hall anywhere across Southampton and out into Hampshire. Southampton Central sits on the main line and there is no tram, so a short taxi links the further stays; Ocean Village, worth saying, is a ride from the centre rather than a stroll.
What else can we do around the class?
Plenty, and plenty of it is Southampton to the core. Set the class in the afternoon, then roll into bottomless brunch and cocktails around Bedford Place, dinner on Oxford Street or drinks down at the Ocean Village marina — and Westquay covers bowling, games and a BOOM Battle Bar between rounds. Groups staying out toward the New Forest tend to have the choreographer travel to them and build the day around it.
None of us can really dance — is that a problem?
Honestly, no. It comes together a few counts at a time, pitched from the off at people who have never set foot on a floor, so it clicks much faster than the hen expects. Keenness matters far more than talent, and the filmed run always turns out better than it felt in the moment.
How far ahead should we book?
Three to five months for a summer Saturday, and sooner still if your weekend lands on Southampton Pride in late August or the Art Asia Mela in July — those fill the city fast. Midweek and off-season dates are far easier, often bookable a couple of weeks out.
Can we perform the routine again at the wedding?
Yes, and lots do — flag it early and your choreographer builds a routine sturdy enough to survive the months in between and land on the reception floor. Plenty of these hen bookings started life as exactly that kind of secret first-dance plan.
