Beginners Class — 60 Minutes
Sharpen Up First
K-pop lives on crisp, exact movement, so the warm-up drills for precisely that — quick isolations, tidy stops and starts, and the control the routine is about to ask of you.
Take the Verse Apart
A real chunk of a title track gets dismantled move by move, each shape rehearsed slowly on its own until the timing is nailed down before anyone touches the speed.
Where You Stand
The bit the videos made famous — spacing, facings and the way a group rearranges mid-phrase. We chart it so the section reads as a set rather than a row of solo steps.
Take It to Speed
Now the section runs at tempo, cleaned up and joined, with the little accents and expressions layered in that make idol choreography actually land through a lens.
Optional Clip, Then Cool
An optional phone take so you can watch back exactly what wants tightening, then a proper stretch after an hour that finishes flat-out.
About K-Pop Classes in Cardiff
Nothing in pop is drilled tighter than K-pop — every accent nailed to the beat, formations swapping around mid-phrase, and a camera catching all of it. A couch and a rewind button will not get you there. These K-pop dance classes in Cardiff take the patient route: authentic routines pulled straight off the charts, girl-group and boy-group alike, taken to bits and rebuilt one count at a time.
Cardiff happens to be a genuine television city, which suits a dance made for the camera perfectly. This is where Doctor Who is filmed, where Wolf Studios Wales and BBC Wales keep the cameras turning, and where a large, young, international student crowd around Cathays and Roath keeps the floor busy and willing. Our studios sit in the city centre and up toward Cathays, and you will hear which is yours when you book.
You need no prior dancing and not a single word of Korean — the counts do all the carrying, and the pace only climbs once the slow run is rock-solid, so even a first night finishes on a chorus you would be glad to film. The adult class runs from school-leavers to dancers in their seventies, under-18s have their own supervised groups, and £8 gets you in with nothing to sign.

Why Choose K-Pop in Cardiff?
Choreography for the Lens
Cardiff is where they shoot Doctor Who, so the cameras really do roll here — and K-pop is built to face one, with an optional weekly phone clip showing you exactly what to sharpen.
The Genuine Routines
Actual title-track choreography from girl and boy groups, not diluted knock-offs — simply slowed just enough for a newcomer to stay locked in with the group.
A Young, Mixed Room
One of Britain's big university capitals keeps the class busy, international and full of people at roughly your level — easy company to be learning alongside.
Under-18s Welcome
Younger fans train in their own age-banded groups with safeguarding-checked teachers, and it is one of the best-loved sessions on that part of the timetable.
Your K-Pop Journey
From first class to confident dancer — here is how it usually goes.
Counts and Control
Section One
A single slice of a real routine, worked slowly by the count. The point is accurate, clean movement rather than any early dash for speed.
What to Wear
Clothes you can snap and move sharply in, plus clean indoor trainers. Bring a layer to lose — you heat up fast as the pace picks up.
Pace and Spacing
Getting Quicker
The slow run tightens and speeds, and the formations arrive — where you travel, when you turn, how the group snaps into sync together.
Facing the Camera
Optional phone clips join in, pointing straight at whichever corner is worth a bit of polish before the next session.
Whole Routines
Full Tracks
You start carrying almost-complete routines from chart songs — expression and accents included — instead of a string of isolated eight-counts.
Range
We cycle through groups and eras so your span widens: a shelf of routines rather than one song looping into the ground.
Camera-Sharp
One Clean Take
Precise, in sync and self-assured enough to land a routine in a single pass, every facing where it should be.
What's Next
Group filming days, our own events, or throwing yourself at the freshest comeback the moment it drops.
K-Pop in Cardiff FAQ
Everything you need to know before your first class.
Will no dance training and no Korean set me back? +
Not in the slightest. Everything runs on numbers, so Korean never enters the room, and total beginners are exactly who these sessions serve. The counting clicks into place inside the first hour.
Do I actually have to be filmed? +
Only if you want to be. We take optional phone clips because they speed up your learning and Cardiff is a real filming city, but nobody is ever steered toward the camera against their wishes.
How long until I can do a full routine? +
A solid section usually lands inside a few weeks, and something close to a whole routine within a couple of months. We lock the slow run down before speeding up, so it feels steady rather than a mad scramble.
Where in Cardiff do the K-pop classes run? +
Partner studios in the city centre and up around Cathays, with the exact room confirmed at booking. Cardiff Central and Queen Street are both a short walk or train off, and the flat centre is easy to cross on foot.
Girl-group or boy-group choreography? +
Both, rotating across the term. We draw genuine title-track routines from right across K-pop, and there is no set artist list — the count-by-count method works whichever track we land on.
What's the price of a session here? +
£8 a drop-in, no membership and no tie-in. The moment your nearest studio settles a weekly time, discounted blocks of sessions go on offer next to it.
What should I turn up in? +
Clothes that let you move crisply and clean indoor trainers, plus a layer to shed — the hour opens gently and ends at full tilt, so you warm up sooner than you would think.
Can younger fans join in Cardiff? +
They can — juniors and teens have their own supervised groups, it is one of our most in-demand under-18 classes, and no experience at all is needed to walk in.
Do you teach new comebacks or older hits? +
A blend of both. We lean toward whatever is big at the moment but fold the classics back in, keeping the playlist fresh and building you a spread of routines rather than one on repeat.
