Class Structure
Beginners Class — 60 Minutes
Warm Up and Walk It
A gentle warm-up, then the basic step vocabulary — grapevines, heel digs, the classic pivot turn — walked through slowly with names attached.
Learn the First Wall
We build the opening sequence one move at a time, repeating it until the count sticks, all of it called out so nobody has to guess.
Turn the Corner
The clever, easy bit — the same sequence rotates a quarter or half turn to face a new wall, and suddenly one short dance fills the whole floor.
Put It to Music
We run the finished dance to the track — country, pop or a bit of soul — a few times through until it flows without the callout.
Dance It Through, Then Rest
A final few run-throughs for the pleasure of it, then an easy cool-down and stretch.
About Line Dance Classes in Bradford
Line dancing might be the least intimidating way into dancing that exists. You come alone or with friends, you copy the person at the front, and an instructor names each move as it lands — there is genuinely nothing to improvise. Our line dance classes in Bradford stretch far past cowboy country, pulling in chart pop, Motown and old-school rock-and-roll.
It is an easy class to walk into on your own, and one of the few we run where the age range is genuinely wide open. People come along from right across the district and the two valleys — Shipley, Saltaire and Bingley up the Aire, Ilkley and Otley over in Wharfedale — and we will happily bring the class to any of them. Central studios sit around North Parade and Shipley, confirmed when you book.
A single session is £8 with no commitment attached — try one, walk away knowing a complete dance start to finish, and judge for yourself. You need no boots and no western kit; flat, comfy shoes and a readiness to laugh off a wrong turn are all it takes. The adult floor welcomes every age, and younger groups train with DBS-checked teachers.

Line Dance in Bradford FAQ
Everything you need to know before your first class.
Will I need a partner for line dancing? +
Never. That's the whole appeal — everyone dances the same steps side by side, facing the same way, so you can come completely on your own and take full part from the first song.
Where in Bradford is the line dancing held? +
At central partner studios around North Parade and over at Shipley, confirmed when you book. We also bring line dancing out across the district and the Aire and Wharfedale valleys.
How much is a line dancing class in Bradford? +
£8 for a drop-in, paid per session with no membership. When your local studio settles into a regular timetable, discounted blocks become available too.
Can a complete beginner really keep up? +
Yes — line dancing is designed for it. Every step is called out as it comes, dances are built up slowly and repeated, and you'll usually have a full routine by the end of your first class.
Do I need cowboy boots or western clothes? +
Not in the slightest. Flat, comfortable shoes with a smooth sole and everyday clothes you can move in are perfect. The country outfit is entirely optional and mostly for fun.
Is it all country music? +
No. Country is in the mix, but so are chart pop, Motown, soul and rock-and-roll. The steps are the same skill whatever the track, which keeps the sessions varied.
I'm well into my later years — is that fine? +
More than fine. Line dancing draws the widest age range of anything we teach, it's gentle on the joints, and you set your own pace. Plenty of our dancers are retired and have come for years.
What if my mind goes blank halfway through a dance? +
It happens to everyone and it matters not at all — the steps are called out, the sequence repeats, and you simply slot back in on the next wall. No one is watching but you.
Could I book line dancing for a group or hen do in Bradford? +
Absolutely — there's a dedicated line dancing hen party option, and we can bring it to a venue anywhere across Bradford and the surrounding valleys. It's a brilliant icebreaker for mixed-ability groups.
