Class Structure

Beginners Class — 60 Minutes

0–10 mins

Warm-Up & Grip

Pulse-raising moves, wrists and shoulders prepped, and grip drills on the pole so your hands are ready before any weight goes on.

10–25 mins

Spins & Holds

The week's spins and static holds broken down slowly, all from the floor, with clean technique and safe hand placement coming first.

25–40 mins

Linking Up

Joining two or three moves into a short sequence so the pole starts to feel like dancing rather than a set of separate tricks.

40–50 mins

Strength & Conditioning

Targeted holds and controlled climbs that build the exact strength the next moves ask for — the training hidden inside the fun.

50–60 mins

Flow & Cool-Down

A relaxed run of what you've learned, a stretch for the shoulders and grip, and a look ahead to next week's move.

About Pole Dance Classes in Aberdeen

The idea that pole demands a gymnast's arms before you begin keeps far too many people at the door. It doesn't. Every climb, spin and hold is itself the workout, and the strength arrives quietly across the weeks rather than being a ticket you buy on the way in. Beginners of every body type and gender start here on level terms.

There is one line we won't blur: pole is a studio discipline and stays that way. Our poles are rigged into a floor and ceiling built to take the load, tested to a standard no front room, church hall or hotel suite can honestly offer. That rules out any come-to-you version — the safety is the entire point — and your Aberdeen studio address lands by email the moment you book.

The room sits centrally between Union Street and the Gallowgate dance cluster, an easy walk from Aberdeen station at Union Square or a short First Aberdeen bus from Rosemount, Bridge of Don or the West End — there's no tram or metro up here. Bring shorts and a snug top so skin can grip the metal, skip the moisturiser and fake tan, and arrive with nothing else to buy.

Why Choose Pole Dance in Aberdeen?

Strength Is Built In

You never arrive strong; the spins and holds do the building, so week one asks only that you turn up and try.

Rigged and Studio-Only

Load-tested poles fixed into a proper studio floor and ceiling — the reason we never bring pole to your door.

Every Body, Every Gender

Mixed classes open to all shapes and genders, graded so beginners and returners each work at their own level.

Milestones That Stack

From a first steady spin to your earliest invert, every few weeks hands you a move that simply wasn't there before.

Your Pole Dance Journey

From first class to confident dancer — here is how it usually goes.

Week 1–4

Grip and Ground

Getting Started

First spins, basic holds and moving around the pole with control — all from the floor, nothing overhead yet.

What to Wear

Shorts and a fitted top so skin meets metal, bare feet or grip socks, and no lotions or tan on class day.

Month 2–3

Off the Floor

Building Strength

Stronger spins, cleaner transitions and the first assisted moves that begin lifting your weight onto the pole.

Confidence

Linking two or three moves into a short sequence and trusting your hands to hold you where they should.

Month 4–6

Inverting

New Territory

Your first supported inverts and climbs, with spotting and crash mats until each one feels genuinely secure.

Flow

Stringing spins and inverts into phrases that begin to look like a routine rather than a run of drills.

Month 6+

Your Own Lines

Advanced Practice

Harder inverts, longer combinations and the personal styling that turns technique into a performance.

What Comes Next

Choreographing your own material, trying spin pole, or setting a fresh trick as the next thing to chase.

Pole Dance in Aberdeen FAQ

Everything you need to know before your first class.

Will I need existing strength to begin pole? +

No — that's the myth that keeps people away. The classes themselves build the muscle; the spins and holds are the training. Turn up as you are and the strength follows over a few weeks.

Why is there no come-to-you pole class in Aberdeen? +

Because pole is only as safe as its rig. Our poles are load-tested and fixed into a proper studio floor and ceiling — something no home, hall or hotel can guarantee — so this class stays in the studio, full stop.

Where in Aberdeen do the pole classes run? +

At a central studio near Union Street and the Gallowgate, walkable from Union Square station and on First Aberdeen bus routes from Rosemount, the West End and Bridge of Don. The exact address is emailed once your place is booked.

How much is a pole class in Aberdeen? +

Every drop-in is £8 flat — no membership, no joining fee, nothing to sign. Discounted blocks will follow once a regular weekly slot is confirmed at your studio.

What should I wear, and do I need to buy kit? +

Shorts and a fitted top so your skin can grip the pole, plus bare feet or grip socks. Leave moisturiser and fake tan off on class day — they kill your grip — and there's nothing else to buy.

Is pole only for women? +

Not at all. Our Aberdeen classes are mixed and open to every gender; pole rewards control and problem-solving as much as anything, and the beginner room is more varied than most people expect.

Will I be upside down in my first session? +

No. Week one stays on the floor with spins and holds. Inverts come later, once your grip and core are ready, and always with spotting and mats. Nothing here is rushed.

Will pole leave me bruised? +

A few 'pole kisses' are normal early on — small marks where you learn to grip and hold — and they fade fast as your technique sharpens and your skin adjusts. They're a rite of passage, not a warning sign.

Can you run a pole session for a hen party? +

Studio pole hen sessions run at our partner studio only, for the same safety reasons — we can't bring rigged poles to a venue. Ask about the pole dancing hen party and we'll sort a group booking in the studio.
