Class Structure

Beginners Class — 60 Minutes

0–10 mins

Ease In to the Song

We warm up to the track itself, waking the body and letting the mood of the routine sink in before any counts get taught.

10–25 mins

Small Blocks at a Time

The choreography arrives in bite-size chunks, each demonstrated face-on and side-on, so you copy the exact shape rather than a near-enough guess.

25–40 mins

Set the Shapes

Position and eyeline are half of the effect, so we place the spacing, the angles and the facing that make a group read as one.

40–50 mins

Up to Speed

The chunks join and the tempo lifts toward the real recording, until the whole section runs at proper pace.

50–60 mins

Film It If You Like, Then Cool

An optional take for anyone who wants a record, then a stretch to bring the hour gently down.

About K-Pop Classes in Aberdeen

K-pop dance is the real routine pulled off the screen — the accent hits, the switching formations and the point moves you could hum in your sleep. It's exact, tightly synced and framed for a lens, which is what makes landing it feel so good, and why a live teacher beats a paused clip every single time.

Now the honest bit. Aberdeen has never had a dependable weekly K-pop class you can just show up to — the hunger is clearly here, but it surfaces as one-off events and student meet-ups, never a set night. Closing that gap is the whole point of this class. We run our own permanent version: one studio, one weeknight, week in and week out, public and open, with nobody signed up in advance and nobody turned back over age.

No prior dancing is assumed — if your K-pop has been strictly a spectator sport so far, this is aimed squarely at you. Counts go out in plain English, so there's no Korean to learn, and each part is drilled slow before it's let up to speed. Sessions are £8 on the day. Under-eighteens get their own staffed groups, and a private booking for a friend group or birthday is simple to arrange.

Why Choose K-Pop in Aberdeen?

The Weekly Slot That Was Missing

Aberdeen had no standing K-pop night, so we made a dependable weekly one — public, easy to walk into, with nothing you must sign up for.

Shapes and Angles Included

We coach the spacing and the camera facing as hard as the steps, because a K-pop routine only lands when the whole line hits its marks together.

Counted in Plain English

Each move is called in ordinary numbers, so no Korean is needed — count to eight and you can keep pace with the room.

See Your Own Progress

An optional end-of-class take lets you watch the improvement stack up week by week, if that's the sort of thing that keeps you going.

Your K-Pop Journey

From first class to confident dancer — here is how it usually goes.

Weeks 1–4

The Opening Section

Starting Out

You learn a routine's first chunk slowly, getting the hang of copying shapes exactly rather than roughly.

Wear

Comfortable clothes you can move crisply in and clean trainers. Pack water — the pace picks up fast.

Month 2

Clean and Together

Landing the Hits

Sharpening accents so your moves strike the beat alongside the line, never a half-count late.

Keeping Your Mark

Holding your spot and spacing as the group shifts, which is what makes it read as one body.

Months 3–4

End-to-End

The Complete Track

Joining the sections into a full song you can dance start to finish at recording speed.

For the Camera

Working angles and expression so it holds up on film, not only from the inside looking out.

Month 5 Onward

Ready to Post

Polished

Confident, synced and crisp enough to share a clip you're pleased with, or to dance at an event.

What's Next

New tracks, harder routines, or a cover crew formed with people you've met in class.

K-Pop in Aberdeen FAQ

Everything you need to know before your first class.

Is there honestly a weekly K-pop class in Aberdeen I can join? +

There is now, and it's ours. Before this, the city offered only sporadic events and university meet-ups, so we set up a fixed weekly slot in our own studio — open to all, with nothing to sign up for.

Do I need dance experience to begin? +

None required. The class is pitched at outright beginners whose K-pop has so far been watching it, and we take every section apart slowly so nobody falls behind.

Will I have to learn Korean? +

No. Every count is spoken in plain English numbers, so you can follow along without a word of Korean — the track carries the rest.

Which songs and artists will we dance? +

A changing selection of familiar idol tracks — choreography you'll already know by sight. We work one routine at a time so it's properly learned rather than half-remembered.

Where in Aberdeen do the K-pop classes run? +

At a partner studio in the centre, a short walk from the station at Union Square and easy on First Aberdeen buses. The exact address follows once you've booked.

How much is each K-pop class in Aberdeen? +

Eight pounds a class, settled on the day. There's no membership and no block to buy up front — you pay only for the sessions you attend.

Is the class filmed? +

Only if you'd like. We record a take at the end for anyone wanting a progress marker, but stepping out of frame is entirely fine and nobody is nudged toward the lens.

Is K-pop dancing a real workout? +

Definitely. The speed, the repetition and the sharp full-body moves lift your heart rate quickly — most people finish a full routine run pleasantly winded.

Is anyone too young or too old for it? +

Adults of any age fit the main class, and under-eighteens have their own staffed groups. If the music moves you, there's a place for you here.
