Learn the Core Steps
Every line dance is built from a small set of moves — grapevines, walks, points and simple turns — so we drill those first, because they unlock hundreds of routines at once.
Walk Through a Dance
We take one straightforward dance and walk it at half speed with no music, calling each step aloud until the sequence feels familiar.
Add the Music
The same dance goes on to its track, slowly at first, so you feel how the steps sit on the beat and where the sequence turns to face a new wall.
Turn the Corner
Line dances repeat facing each wall in turn, so we practise the turn that rotates the whole floor, and suddenly the routine loops all the way round the room.
Dance It Through and Relax
We run the finished dance together a few times for the sheer enjoyment of it, then gently stretch the legs before everyone heads off.
About Line Dancing Classes in Telford
Line dancing is the most sociable way there is to start moving: everyone faces the same way, dances the same sequence, and nobody needs a partner. Our line dance classes in Telford teach the walks, grapevines and turns that make up hundreds of routines, so within one friendly hour you're dancing a full sequence alongside the room.
We're honest about how it works here. Telford doesn't have a single fixed weekly line-dancing hall we can send you to, so we bring the class to you — instructor-led sessions in a booked studio near Telford Central, or, more often, out in the village and community halls that suit line dancing best, right across the new town and the wider Shropshire countryside.
The repertoire runs from classic country lines danced to fiddle and steel guitar through to modern floors set to pop and chart tracks, because line dancing long ago left the saloon behind. A session builds from the handful of core steps that recur in nearly every dance, so once you have those, each new routine is really just a fresh arrangement of moves you already know.

Why Choose Line Dancing in Telford?
Never a Partner Needed
Everyone dances the same steps facing the same way, so you can walk in completely on your own and be part of the line from the first routine.
Straight About Local Provision
There's no fixed weekly line-dance hall in Telford, so rather than pretend, we bring an instructor-led class to a venue near you.
Country and Modern Floors
From classic country tracks to today's pop and chart hits, the repertoire keeps it varied — line dancing stopped being just cowboy boots a long time ago.
Across the Shropshire Villages
Village halls and community rooms suit line dancing best, so we travel out to Wellington, Newport, Shifnal and the wider countryside to teach.

Line Dancing in Telford FAQ
Everything you need to know before your first class.
Do I need a partner for line dancing? +
No — that's the whole appeal. Everyone in a line dance performs the same sequence facing the same way, so you can book on entirely by yourself and never sit a dance out for want of a partner.
Is there a regular line-dancing class in Telford? +
There's no single long-standing weekly hall we can point you to, so we're upfront about it. We bring instructor-led line dancing to you instead — a booked studio near Telford Central or, more often, a community hall out in the Shropshire villages.
How much is a class? +
£8 per session, paid on the day. No term, no membership and no block booking — just turn up to the classes that suit you and pay as you go.
Is it all country and western music? +
Not any more. We dance classic country lines, but plenty of routines are set to pop, chart and even dance tracks. Line dancing left the saloon behind years ago, so expect a varied, up-to-date playlist.
I'm not very coordinated — will I manage? +
Yes. Line dancing is built from a small set of repeating steps that we drill first and walk through slowly with no music. Because every dance reuses those same blocks, it gets easier remarkably quickly, even if you've never danced before.
Is it good for older beginners? +
Excellent, in fact. Line dancing is low-impact, sociable and easy to pace, which makes it one of the friendliest ways for adults of any age to get moving. You set your own effort level and rest whenever you like.
Can you run a class for our group or club? +
Gladly. We bring line dancing to social clubs, community groups, hen parties and village-hall events all across Telford and Shropshire. Tell us your numbers and a rough date and we'll sort a quote and a set of crowd-pleasing dances.
Where do you teach? +
We use confirmed studio space near Southwater and Telford Central, and we travel widely — Wellington, Oakengates, Dawley, Donnington and out to the wider Shropshire countryside, including nearby towns like Newport and Shifnal.
What should I wear? +
Comfortable clothes and smooth-soled shoes that let you pivot and slide — trainers with a lot of grip can catch, so a flatter sole is better. Bring water. Cowboy boots are entirely optional and entirely welcome.
