Pick a Hen Party Theme. We Build the Routine.

Every hen party dance class in Peterborough opens with a theme picked for the bride — Beyoncé, ABBA, Wicked, whatever appeals from a list of 38+ — and closes with the whole group performing a routine they were taught from scratch that same afternoon.

A professional choreographer breaks down every step, either in a private studio close to the city centre or on the road at your hotel or hall out across the Fens. Whichever you choose, the one flat rate takes care of the entire group.

An afternoon learning the number, Cathedral Square and Bridge Street once it gets dark, and that same routine dusted off at the wedding down the line — that is how a Peterborough hen do should run.

One Flat Price. No Per-Head Maths.

Nearly every hen company still bills by the head, so the figure keeps moving as names drop on and off the list. Our price is fixed for the whole group instead, no matter how many of you finally make it out.

Six hens or thirty, the figure is identical — a change of plan never costs anyone extra.

  1. Choose your theme

Look through the 38+ themes and choose the one that fits the bride. Can't split two of them? Your choreographer is glad to merge the pair into one.

  2. Pick studio or come-to-you

A private studio near the centre with the bars a stroll away, or the choreographer heading out to wherever the group has based itself across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.

  3. Learn the routine together

The steps arrive a small chunk at a time, all of it aimed at beginners — nobody hurried along, nobody shown up, nobody stranded at the edge.

  4. Perform it — maybe twice

We record that last run-through so it is in the group chat before you leave, and a fair few of these numbers get a second outing on the wedding day.

Wedding Dance Lessons in Peterborough

No ninety seconds of the reception gets filmed harder than the first dance, so it earns rather more than an uneasy shuffle. Working to your song, our choreographers put together a private routine — quiet and simple, or an outright showpiece — at a studio near the centre or out at your venue.

Four to six sessions in the weeks before the wedding is the usual pattern, though the two-hour Last Minute intensive has bailed out more than one couple with a fortnight left. Packages begin at £75, and song editing and filmed rehearsals come in as you climb the tiers.

Questions, Answered

The things people in Peterborough want to know before they commit — where we run, what it costs, whether experience counts and how far ahead to plan. Anything we have not covered, the enquiry forms land with us inside a working day.

Whereabouts in Peterborough do the classes and hen parties take place?

The weekly timetable sits at partner studios in the middle of the city — inside the walkable stretch from the railway station and Queensgate through to Cathedral Square — while the children's classes reach out to Werrington, Orton, Hampton and Yaxley. Booking a hen do or a private session? Your choreographer will happily drive to the hotel or hall wherever you are based, right out into the Fens.

How exactly does the flat-rate hen party price work?

You pay a single figure for everyone in the room: £140 and the venue buys an hour, £165 and the venue buys ninety minutes, and that figure stands whether ten or twenty-two of you show. Nobody works it out by the head, and a change of numbers never changes the bill.

What does a single weekly class cost?

It is £8 a class, full stop — the same £8 for a one-off drop-in or a four-week block, and the same again for any of the twenty styles. There is nothing to sign and no membership; do Bollywood this week and give ballroom a go the next.

None of us have really danced — will we cope?

You will be absolutely fine. There is a real beginners' level in every style, and the hen routines assume a good half of the group has never danced in their life. The people teaching do this for a living and are unusually good at getting first-timers going within the hour.

Who actually teaches the Peterborough classes?

They are jobbing dancers and choreographers from around Cambridgeshire — the sort who perform at the Key Theatre or the Cresset, tour with shows, and fit teaching in between. There is genuine local heritage to draw on too, from the city's long-established dance schools to home-grown names such as Aston Merrygold, and anyone teaching children carries a current DBS check.

How much notice do we need, and can you travel out to us?

A weekly class you can normally start within the week. For a Saturday hen in summer, aim three to five months ahead; couples planning a first dance are best off beginning two or three months before the day. Sitting on the East Coast Main Line with the A1(M) at Junction 17, the city is an easy one for guests to reach by train or car.

What Our Dancers Say

Hen dos, first dances and the regulars, gathered from all over Peterborough and Cambridgeshire.

I ran a Greatest Showman hen for my sister — fourteen of us, most arriving by train straight into Peterborough station. The studio was five minutes from Cathedral Square, we had the big group number down in an afternoon, then walked round to Bridge Street for the evening. The bride's nan joined in for the whole first verse and stole every photo.

Kirsten M. Hen organiser, Peterborough

I started the beginners' ballroom class in January not knowing a waltz from a walk, mostly to get me out of the house through the winter. The teacher rotates everyone round so you are never stuck for a partner, and the hall is two minutes from the bus station at Queensgate. I have gone from counting under my breath to genuinely enjoying the quickstep.

Dermot K. Weekly student, Peterborough

My husband agreed to first-dance lessons on the strict condition that nobody would ever call it dancing. Six sessions later we had a proper routine to our song, and the choreographer drove out to our barn near Oundle so we could practise on the real floor beforehand. He now insists the whole thing was his idea.
