Dance Jobs Southend-on-Sea FAQ

Common questions from instructors thinking about joining the Southend team.

Do I need a teaching qualification to apply for dance jobs in Southend-on-Sea?

Helpful, but never a must. What actually wins the work is strong training or stage experience, plus the knack of commanding a room. Plenty of our finest teachers picked up teaching through performing, not the reverse.

What do dance instructors get paid in Southend-on-Sea?

Regular weekly classes begin at £22 an hour, and hen or wedding choreography begins at £25. Every rate is fixed before the booking, paid on schedule, and lifts as your workload grows.

Which dance styles are you hiring for in Southend-on-Sea?

Every one of the twenty on the timetable — ballet, ballroom, street, K-pop, heels and the rest — as well as hen party instructors and wedding choreographers. The teachers who cover a few styles book up soonest.

Is this full-time work or freelance?

Freelance and flexible, arranged around what you can give. One teacher might run a single weekly class near the High Street; another packs together classes, weekend hen dos and school workshops across Southend and Leigh into an almost-full week. None of it works on a use-it-or-lose-it basis.

I'm still performing and auditioning — will teaching work around that?

Exactly the people we look for. Nearly all of our Southend crew are working performers fitting teaching between contracts. Give us your pattern of availability and we shape the work around it — then hit pause the moment a tour comes in.
