Bring a Theme. Leave With a Routine.

A hen party dance class in Portsmouth begins with the bride's favourite — Beyoncé, ABBA, Wicked, whichever of the 38+ she loves — and finishes with the whole group nailing a routine they picked up together in one afternoon.

Your choreographer breaks every step down in a private Southsea or Guildhall studio, or travels to your harbourside Airbnb or hotel across the city and wider SE Hampshire. One flat price covers everyone, however many turn up.

Learn it over the afternoon, hit Albert Road by evening, then pull the routine out again at the wedding months later — that is a Portsmouth hen do done right.

One Fixed Price. Forget the Per-Head Maths.

Most Portsmouth hen party outfits quote a rate per head, so the total shifts every time someone drops out or a friend tags along. We set a single price for the whole group — the number who make it downstairs never changes the bill.

Six hens or thirty, the figure holds — no one is penalised when the plan shifts.

  1. Choose your theme

Scroll the 38+ themes and choose the one that is most her. Can't split two favourites? Your choreographer will happily stitch them into one.

  2. Pick studio or come-to-you

A private studio in Southsea or by the Guildhall with the night out on the doorstep, or your choreographer comes to your accommodation anywhere across Portsea Island and SE Hampshire.

  3. Learn the routine together

Each move is taught in bite-sized chunks pitched at total beginners — no one benched, no one judged, no one left clinging to the wall.

  4. Perform it — maybe twice

The filmed final take lands in the group chat before you have even left, and no shortage of these routines get a second airing on the wedding dance floor.

Wedding Dance Lessons in Portsmouth

Your first dance is the most filmed ninety seconds of the whole reception — too important for a nervous shuffle. Our choreographers craft a private routine around your song, from understated and elegant to a genuine showstopper, at a Southsea studio or your venue.

Most couples take four to six sessions in the run-up to the day; the two-hour Last Minute intensive has saved more than one couple two weeks out. Packages start at £75, with song editing and filmed rehearsals added as you move up.

Questions, Answered

What Portsmouth dancers ask before they book — studios, pricing, experience and how far ahead to plan. Anything we have missed, the enquiry forms reach us within one working day.

Whereabouts in Portsmouth do classes and hen parties happen?

Weekly classes run at partner studios in Southsea, the city centre near the Guildhall and Somerstown, with children's classes stretching from Fratton to Cosham. For hen parties and private sessions, your choreographer will also travel to your hotel, Airbnb or hall anywhere on Portsea Island and across south-east Hampshire.

How does the flat-rate hen party pricing actually work?

One price covers the entire group: £140 plus venue for an hour or £165 plus venue for ninety minutes, whether six hens turn up or twenty-six. No per-head sums, and no extra charge when the numbers change at the last minute.

What does a weekly dance class cost?

Every class is £8, however you book it — a one-off drop-in or a four-week block, right across all twenty styles. No membership and no contract, so you can try street dance one week and salsa the next.

What if half our group has never danced before?

Not a problem at all. Beginner levels run in every style, and hen routines are designed for groups where half the room swears blind they cannot dance. Our teachers are working professionals who get total beginners moving within minutes.

Do you cover the mainland suburbs, not just Portsea Island?

Yes. The weekly studios sit on Portsea Island, but our come-to-you choreographers work regularly across Cosham, Drayton, Farlington, Portchester, Fareham and Havant — tell us where you are and we will confirm any travel when you book.

How much notice do you need from us?

Weekly classes can usually be joined the same week. Hen parties want three to five months for a summer Saturday, and couples booking wedding lessons are best starting two to three months before the big day.

What Our Dancers Say

Hen parties, first dances and weekly classes right across Portsea Island.

My sister asked for ABBA and zero pressure, and that's exactly what she got — an hour of Dancing Queen drilled into fourteen women with no coordination between us, and a finale that somehow came off. Gunwharf afterwards felt like a lap of honour.

Freya M. Maid of honour, Southsea

Signed up for street dance in January fully expecting to quit by February. It's July and the Tuesday class is non-negotiable — proper teaching, no attitude, and I can finally hear the counts in music.

Leon P. Weekly student, Portsmouth

We booked wedding lessons as a box-ticking exercise and came out with a first dance people still bring up. Our teacher rebuilt the routine around a song we'd half given up on making work.
